This is a bus and rail trip from Singapore to Johor Baru and Kluang. The locomotive used was the class 26, Blue Tiger which is sometimes driven by the Sultan of Johor. Here we're also able to see the progress of the EDTP, Electrified Double Tracking Project which should be completed next year. I also explain why the EDTP is important. We also take a quick look at the expanding town of Kluang.

Dear Don Gurugay, I'm much pleased on watching your video in English. I missed Kluang as I left Kluang long before in 1964 but, the memories always pleases me. I wish to make a small request that, if you happen to be in Kluang in near future, please take video on Jalan Mersing both side the moment you come from the station to the road. I look forward for your generosity with many thanks.

EDTP should be expanded to whole west Malaysia on existing railway including a East Coast lane instead of a new high speed train which is so costly. This would be the cheapest way to increase the capacity of train transportation in West Malaysia by many holds by cutting down enormous time wasted in waiting for the opposite train to passby. This train should include some cargo train and car carrier for passengers who can bring their car along to their destination so that they got a car to use in their destination.
@DonGurugay
@DonGurugay Жыл бұрын
Yes I totally agree. The problem with the new East Coast line is that it will be a broader gauge. So you can’t have interoperability. Your comment about the car on the train is not far fetched. If memory serves right this was done in the ‘60s/‘70s but was not continued.
@wht8349
@wht8349 Жыл бұрын
@@DonGurugay It's a mistake to build the East Coast high speed train with broader gauge. But that's what Malaysia Gov't always do without proper planning and foresight. They made mistakes after mistakes but they thought they were so great! That's why Malaysia average gdp has fallen from no.2-3 in Asia since 1957 to current close to 20th in Asia falling behind many middle Eastern countries.

Hi, great video you got there...just wanted to ask you..which coach should you take facing forward towards the driver? And which seat should you pick facing the large windows? And does this apply to the back and fro journey? thank you in advance..
@DonGurugay
@DonGurugay Жыл бұрын
Thank you. For seat selection you could make a request at the time you buy the ticket to be forward facing. However bearing in mind half the seats face the front you’ve got a 50/50 chance. As for the windows if memory serves right I’d say almost all the windows are not in a bad position.
