Yes, good call Tony, model first, tippy tappy after as Lord Al would say. I'll hold off on the black 5 till they do an early BR crest with puffy smoke. That should give enough time to address any issues Hornby have.
@ChobertonJunction5 ай бұрын
Hey Andy, I just realised that something was not quite right and YT was the reason. More to the point the way was with YT not YT itself which is an amazing platform to be on. I do so love the Black 5's and when they bring out the steam older BR version I will be on it myself and hopefully yes all issues resolved.

Hey Tony 👋 the similarities between our journeys in the hobby are very much intertwined. I've not really felt much pressure for KZbin as I stick to the moto that I'm doing it for my own record, if you folks find it interesting it's all good with me 🎉 😉 Tutorials for your modelling would be awesome btw, very impressive church 👏 We've now got guinea pigs at home now so they've been taking away valuable building time, hence I haven't even got ballast down let alone scenics 😢 my river is cocked up again so have to redo that... It's still bloody great fun 🎉
@ChobertonJunction5 ай бұрын
Hey @_RandomPea, yes we do seem to be on similar journeys. I just got to a point that I realised how much effort was going into YT and video's and not into the layout itself. So something had to change even if only in my own head. I have really enjoyed watching your layout develop with all the similar ups and downs. Sorry to hear the river still 'cocked up'. In the end I used a high gloss varnish on mine but applied in thin coats lots of them. Still not prefect as cocked mine up in the beginning but we live and learn. And in the end, yes bloody great fun and glad to be back at it.

Great video Tony! Those are some great looking new models added to the fleet. I’ve always said once a hobby starts to feel like a second job, it’s time to take a break from it, weather that be just run the trains around or leave the layout in whole for awhile. Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to see that accurascale model running!
@ChobertonJunction5 ай бұрын
Hey Kyle, thank you for the comment really appreciate it. You are right when you say 'second job'. I found myself suddenly getting all bothered about camera angles and audio and not enjoying the hobby as I did all those years ago when YT did not even exist, the Internet did not even exist so we all concentrated on the hobby. Mind you what we have now on YT and the Internet is great but one has to be careful as can become all consuming.

Great video, Tony! I always said I could not do work on camera because I become more focused on the camera and the video conditions than the work itself (not that I do much). Beautiful new purchase on the 66 (one of my best friends died from Prostate Cancer) and the Black 5. Impressive all around, sir!

Hey Anthony, I know exactly what you mean and I it was something that I realised. Something had to give and it was a no brainer really. Sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is such a horrible thing and we all have lost people to it. Hence I want to enjoy what I can while I can.

Hi Tony! Lovely video and thanks for sharing it and your thoughts. I totally understand how you feel. I've only been at this youtube game for a short while as you know and I find it hard to combine filming and building hence why my films are normally catch ups. At the end of the day you started this journey for yourself and you should continue it that way. If you don't put out as much footage as you feel you should then don't worry about it. It just makes one of your posts that much more exciting to see pop up! Don't let KZbin ruin your enjoyment ☺Take care my friend and happy modelling!
@ChobertonJunction5 ай бұрын
Hey Mav, wise words and I thank you for them. I want to enjoy the return to the hobby and YT is part of that. It just won't be as bigger part of it which was my own fault but we live and learn as we go. Take care see you around.

Certainly takes a lot of time up Does the old KZbin videos - it’s looking good mate 👍
@ChobertonJunction5 ай бұрын
Hey DoubleO, it sure does. Someone suggested doing live videos that then don't need editing might give it a try save on time and actually get stuff done. I think the way you have approached YT is top notch. Love the voice over to your filming and the story lines a breath of fresh air to the hobby. So we just do what we can when we can from here on.
@doubleodave5 ай бұрын
@@ChobertonJunction when I did the weathering videos, to get a half decent camera shot I found the camera was getting in the way quite a bit, hence why I couldn’t really show the step by step process, I decided then that as I’m no weathering expert it was more important to not affect the job in hand than get the footage. You might find the same if you tried filming the live, I suppose it depends if you go with a wider shot. Then the camera can be out of your way 👍 ps cheers 🙂
@ChobertonJunction5 ай бұрын
Hey @doubleodave, yes all of the above have been an issue and I think you're right. I may try some live stuff but I think mostly I will be filming running sessions and trips away to heritage lines.

Looks so real. Wish i had the space for a proper layout. Great stuff CJ👍👍👍👍👍👍
@ChobertonJunction5 ай бұрын
Hey Terry, thank you glad you like and coming from you that is a great compliment. Talking of space what you see is all that I have at present and it is only a 1 meter square corner that opens onto a 1.5 meter straight. Not much and as I say 25 seconds from end to end (if I run the train slowish lol) Would be very interesting to see how you got on if you could find the space.

Nice layout Tony coming from a guy never into railways preferring to fly everywhere, as its faster , more expensive but love the sensation of closer to God. Cheers.
@ChobertonJunction5 ай бұрын
Hey Atholl, strangely I am the opposite not that I mind flying but steam has always had some sort of draw for me way back when I was a nipper sitting on the foot bridge at our local village station watching the steam locos thunder by underneath.
@charlie1872Ай бұрын
Hi Tony, first of all the layout looks fantastic with great details. You might know my layout is on the small side being about 9*10 ft and I have no chance of expanding it. I have been able to model a couple of scenic breaks which gives the impression that it might be larger. It’s all smoke and glass. I compensate by continuing to change out my trains and locos. That was good advice though Cheers Charlie
@ChobertonJunctionАй бұрын
Hey @charlie1872, thank you. I have to say I had no idea how small your layout is I guess I just assume that everyone has a larger layout or largeish. Have to say that yours gives the impressions of being much larger and that is a good thing. I think changing out the locos is a good approach and will be something that I will have to adopt having a small layout also.

Hi ya Tony. I have come to the same conclusion buddy. Not just the filming but the editing afterwards. Takes up so much of your time. With me it damages my mojo somewhat. Need to get on with modelling and that's what the hobby is about. Love the black 5, just bought a Accurascale 37 problems with it, going to be buying secondhand in future. Layout looking fantastic as usual. Thanks Tony. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete....

Hey Pete, thank you for popping in and the comment. I agree with your loss of mojo comment also as that is exactly what I was experiencing. Sorry to hear about the Accurascale 37 issue. Did you get it resolved? Second hand is not a bad way to go and I have purchased a lot that way. Mostly successful purchases. So, yes lets get back to modelling and YT can wait.

Hi Tony, Combining in my case train sets and YT your right the time just rushes down the tracks but like everything else in life you make up your mind what you want to do at the beginning and as time goes by you can change your mind so as you see now a lot of the time with me I just take pictures string them together with my thoughts and thats it so try it and see. Super black 5 and you have a good one but should they not all be good!!!! The 66 is a super model I have the Hattons one which was good in itself (but let down with its own issues) but its great Accurascale went one better will wait to see yours dcc sound fitted and see what you think. Cheers Robert.

I have liked your approach to your channel and I may well go down that route a little now to allow time doing what I want to do.
