So what’s up everbody im back and this time we have a 90s film and to me something that doesn’t get talked about enough for SURE!! This is JUMANJI FROM 1995! Starting Robin Williams. A magical board game unleashes a world of adventure on siblings Peter (Bradley Pierce) and Judy Shepherd (Kirsten Dunst). While exploring an old mansion, the youngsters find a curious, jungle-themed game called Jumanji in the attic. When they start playing, they free Alan Parrish (Robin Williams), who's been stuck in the game's inner world for decades. If they win Jumanji, the kids can free Alan for good -- but that means braving giant bugs, ill-mannered monkeys and even stampeding rhinos! It had been since I was a kid since I had seen this and as an adult now this is a fire movie the movie stakes go throughout the entire movie and it made you feel everything love fear action animals time travel death this is excellent!

22:36 Well, Van Pelt isn't Alan's dad. But he is played by the same actor as the dad, for a reason: When he was a kid, Alan felt that his father was too strict and was mistreating him, so he was constantly scared of him, which made their relationship turn fractious, to a point where Alan wished he would never see his dad agian. Not just that, but Alan was typically a coward who never takes accountability of his actions, like when he accidentally destroyed the shoes at the factory and he lets Carl Bentley take the blame instead of accepting responsibility. But when he gets trapped in Jumanji for 26 years, Alan, while trying to look for a way out, begins to regret what he said to his dad and what mistakes he made. Van Pelt, who is supposed to resemble his dad, gives Alan a big chance for redemption and accepting accountability for his actions. But instead, Alan runs away when Van Pelt shoots at him, which is a symbol of him running away from the problems he had with his dad. And finally, in the end, after all the adventures he went through, he gets confronted at gunpoint by Van Pelt, and instead of running away, Alan finally learns about responsiblity and has enough courage to stand up to his fears, so he can go back in time, change the past, and hope for the best between him and his father (Who also just developed a change of heart when he realized how bad he scolded his son). This same technique was also used in "Peter Pan", with Wendy's father and Captain Hook both being played by the same actor.
