Welcome to my official Sid Meier's Civilization V (Civ 5) KZbin Tutorial Series! Founded in 2016 and revitalized in 2021! Civ 5 is perhaps one of the best 4x strategy games of all time. This series will cover over civ v tips and tricks for beginners as I guide you through how to settle a city, what cultural policies to choose, how to tech up fast, how to take cities, win wars, defend your lands, negotiate peace, take to the seas and much more!
About the game:
Sid Meier's Civilization V is a 4X video game in the Civilization series developed by Firaxis Games. The game was released on Microsoft Windows in September 2010,[3] on OS X on November 23, 2010, and on Linux on June 10, 2014.
In Civilization V, the player leads a civilization from prehistoric times into the future on a procedurally generated map, attempting to achieve one of a number of different victory conditions through research, exploration, diplomacy, expansion, economic development, government and military conquest. The game is based on an entirely new game engine with hexagonal tiles instead of the square tiles of earlier games in the series.[5] Many elements from Civilization IV and its expansion packs have been removed or changed, such as religion and espionage (although these were reintroduced in its subsequent expansions). The combat system has been overhauled, by removing stacking of military units and enabling cities to defend themselves by firing directly on nearby enemies.[6] In addition, the maps contain computer-controlled city-states and non-player characters that are available for trade, diplomacy and conquest. A civilization's borders also expand one tile at a time, favoring more productive tiles,[7] and roads now have a maintenance cost, making them much less common.[8] The game features community, modding, and multiplayer elements.[5] It is available for download on Steam.
Its first expansion pack, Civilization V: Gods & Kings, was released on June 19, 2012, in North America and June 22 internationally. It includes features such as religion, espionage, enhanced naval combat and combat AI, as well as nine new civilizations.[9]
A second expansion pack, Civilization V: Brave New World, was announced on March 15, 2013. It includes features such as international trade routes, a world congress, tourism, great works, as well as nine new civilizations, eight additional wonders, and three ideologies. It was released on July 9, 2013, in North America and in the rest of the world three days later.

I've started to play again after so many long years and your info really helps a lot. I've always preferred to play the Arabian nation as they give double oil, extra money from oasis and bazaar. The early era also gives the Camel troops which are more powerful than any horse troops (that's what I think anyway). Again thank you for the info. ❤❤❤

Came for the naval tip and tricks. Stayed for the melee.

It would be really helpful if you didn't put yourself in a position to lose melee units by moving in before the city is ready, keep ranged units at their max range and move them back if they get weak. Move in melee units to take the city OR take bombardment if they're strong enough.

Archipelago, submarine, anaconda plan. Best idea I had in a while no ships were leaving Kenya for the entire war. America rules the seas

what about Britain with their unique naval percs and the Line ship? Played with a friend in a session, was an island with my own navy and he came up with 4 Line ships and wrecked 3 cities within 4 turns. Not to mention that 40% of my navy went kia in the first round of the attack.

I just recently started playing on mac and I don't have any DLC is there any late game unit I can use to capture cities? Everything says there's no late game melee naval units.

Yes - but watch out for Nuclear Submarines (you may want to have some nuclear subs of your own to support your fleet by that era too!)

@@JumboPixel and i have one more question when I purchase carrier i can't get promote but sometimes I getting promote and that unpromoted carrier have only 2 cargo why this happens and how can I fix it?
@JumboPixel
@JumboPixel 3 жыл бұрын
Well, there are a number of things that could be happening here. I suspect you could be making the carriers in different cities? One city might have built buildings that give a promotion (or xp) to newly created units. I’m not sure about the second part of your question though. What cargo are you trying to move, and how many cargo slots do your other carriers have?

@@canozturk4757 if you are planning a navy based gameplay, build xp building&monument (the german one, brandebourg) in 1 city and build all your naval units there, still carrier without (supercarrier) mod is shitty :( your carrier need to take hits -without plane on it, just in case several barbarian manage to sunk it- to get xp on it but only barbarian hits (if they have the basic boats and not good ones which can destroy your units and only 1 at a time or your carrier can still be sunk)
