Ye, imo hotkey is so much more clean vs scroll for rod also def biggest thing for ur style of jump combo is spacing and patience.

something to mention, against better players, sometimes you actually want to hold W longer than you would for a combo while going for rod crits. This is because if you're not moving forward when you jump, you get a good spaced hit, therefore you get a crit combo. But if the enemy rods you while you're in the air, then they get a free combo. Sometimes if you just hold W, their rod can space for you, or u just force trade with a damage advantage coming from the rod crit before the trade, both of which are better than getting combo'd
