Legit just started jump roping for the first time in my life a week ago. I started with a light grossfit style pvc liquorice speed rope and it was INSANELY frustrating trying to learn on bc I had no control over the rope whatsoever or any real feedback. I broke down and bought a beaded rope and it was a night and day difference and I went from barely able to make ten single skips in a row to now I can do sets of 3-4 in a row consistently in roughly five days of practice. if you're a beginner GET THE BEADED OR HEAVIER ROPE

I just ordered the CrossRope. I have a cheap-o rope that I started using a few weeks back but I can't seem to find any consistency and am constantly tripping on it. I've read up on the different ropes and thought I might benefit from the heavier rope to learn how to jump. With your discount offer, I was able to get a little more off of the price and make it more reasonable. I'm looking forward to receiving it! Thank you!

I just got a beaded rope and love it. I've been using a liquorice rope (pvc) and the beaded rope is like putting training wheels on. Suddenly things I was struggling with before are doable now. Still need to work on form and timing, but it's a lot less frustrating. Get one and give it a try.

I've been using the classic leather jump rope for the last couple of years and it works fine...but I should probably go past it if I want to further develop my "skills", it's very light and is prone to tripping me up on cross-overs and the like as it can't uncoil in good time. I'll be damned if I'm spending a hundred bucks on a rope though...I think I'll try a beaded rope. Thank you as always for the great information mate.

I’ve just picked up the rope again recently and my old school Everlast leather rope. It didn’t feel right and I wasn’t sure why. Then you said about the weight being in the rope I realised how dry and light it was. Soaked it for a while and it feels significantly better now it has weight to it. I’ll still pick up a new weighted rope though, £20 on a good rope isn’t a lot to ask for fitness equipment.

I have the elite srs rope and the first gen crossrope all the way to 3lbs. I want to add beads (small) but was wondering if that makes a difference at all? Sometimes I just want something fast and the srs rope does that for me.
@Jump15official
@Jump15official 4 жыл бұрын
Which rope do you want to add beads to? I'm not sure how you would get them on the first gen Crossrope's. If you can get them on I have no idea how that will work. I'd say give it a try and find out. If you would be putting them on the elite srs then I would probably just pick up the heavy beaded rope since it is inexpensive. I would imagine in both cases that it will provide more drag in the air to some degree compared to either rope without them.

I letting these muscles take a break and want to start jumping again Saturday morning to try and get into a normal muscle memory or adapted to all these ropes !!! I'm not quite a beginner. I have the Rogue SR-1. I think it's a wire one, and it has the ball bearing so it's fast. Is there one that you think would be good to have to pair with it? Is it the beaded one from this video, or is that particularly good for beginners?
@Jump15official
@Jump15official 3 жыл бұрын
The beaded rope will be slower due to the wind resistance it provides. It would push your endurance in a different way and at the price point it's easy to add in. What kind of jumping do you do? The SR-1 is typically used by CrossFit athletes for double Unders. It is very light and not great for learning different skills. If you jump mostly just for fitness I highly recommend trying Crossrope. Weighted ropes are a fun challenge and will help you become a better jumper.

@@Jump15official So far I've only done it for cardio--single jump, alternating foot, front cross. But I'm only now watching all of these youtube videos and it's making me want to try more :) Crossrope seems pretty expensive given that I already have a rope. I'm in NYC and can't see myself going to a local park with a mat :P
@Jump15official
@Jump15official 3 жыл бұрын
I hear you. Expensive is relative. $80 for a year of workouts is pretty cheap. On avg. my ropes have lasted over a year (have seen others say even longer) and then I replace ropes as needed (just the rope, not the whole system). So the next year of workouts is only $20 because I've only replaced the 1/4 lb rope. I personally believe they are a better value over time, considering you actually use them. They are also more durable so you don't need to take a mat to the park. I often jump without a mat outdoors during summer. I don't say this to pressure you towards them, just to be informed. If you're not sure you need them, try the beaded rope and see if you like the resistance that provides, then maybe down the line you'll want to give them a shot.

What’s your opinion on jump ropes with counters?
@Jump15official
@Jump15official 3 жыл бұрын
I personally don't care about how many jumps I do. I believe time based is far better. For instance, I see people doing 1000 jump challenges. That may take one person 20 minutes to complete while it only takes me 6. With time, anyone that does a 10 minute jump session, it's going to push them at their level for 10 minutes or the time selected.

I already have a light cable rope, but I'm a beginner. If I buy some beads and put them on the rope then I would have something pretty much similar to the beaded rope but with bearings. Is this worth doing? Any drawbacks? OTOH the cable is 2mm but the bearings will probably take up to 4 mm. Any cons to buying 3 or 4mm cable from a hardware store and replace it so as to have a heavier rope?
@Jump15official
@Jump15official Жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan of cable ropes for the most part. I couldn't say regarding adding beads to it as I have never done that. I actually would say grab a 6mm PVC rope. They are pretty inexpensive and add a good amount of weight and feel to the rope.

Part of it is price range. If you want interchangeable go with the Crossrope Get Lean set. Those weights are great for beginners. The beaded rope option is a good option for the new jumper on a budget. It can be resized so you can also work on shortening your rope over time, which will make you more efficient. Beaded is durable for any surface while PVC coated ropes are best for mats or smooth surfaces. Hope that helps🤙
