It was a 480 (440) volt motor because of the former VFD in the cabinet on the right. It is common in those smaller HP ratings for the drive to accept a 240/208 input and output 480/440 to the motor AFTER the VFD. It looked like th VFD had failed and was disconnected, but no one bothered to rewire the motor voltage.

Before your work it was correctly wired in Delta(240V) now its in Star(460V). The nameplate says it, Star 440V and Delta will be 1/1.73 lower -> 240V

You mentioned cleaning the inside of the bore on the fan blades. I have a shotgun cleaning rod in my kit for this. The brass brush gets the big stuff, some sandpaper in the cleaning patch holder chucked in a drill cleans them right up.

You just did a major screw up. The motor was already wired for Delta at 2:59 in the video, which is low voltage. You should have checked the frequency the VFD was outputting if the motor was going slow like that. Now your "expert" just wired your motor in WYE configuration, which is high voltage. The 3 wires tied together is WYE at 7:19 in your video. A bit of common sense goes a long way, dude. If the install is this old looking and it worked since then, then it won't suddenly be the issue if it is failing.

Hi how are i'm from Ethiopia... I received a maintenance request from restaurant, the problem is ,smoke extracter is making high noise... the fan is connected with three phase motor with belt, i disconnect the belt and let the motor to work alone and no noise ,start working in good conditions but when i connect the motor to the fan using the belt it stat making high noise what could the problem? thank you!

Do you ever heard of star/delta? It's a very common thing for 3phase ac induction motors. They all have this configuration block where you can route the internal coil arrangement. The motor specialist must have given you a facepalm,

400v is supplied from the vfd Vfd will convert ac to DC then back to ac so can supply 400 volts
