Watching the system on a computer using LGMV will allow you to see the EEV positions of each FCU and the pipe in and out temps. That should help narrow dirty coils / filters, or bad EEVs.

Ok, so i have been watching this saga. I am also listening to what you said about back to basics. Although you changed compressor when it was warm out, you are getting a high amperage in heating. That being said, the indoor coil is basically the condenser. We all know what happens to compressors when we have a dirty condenser. You are definitely on the right track with getting back to basics. Maintenance. This is what happens when you forgo maintenance. Yeah, things may work for years, and you are happy you didn't fall for the maintenance trap." Eventually, you have to pay the piper. And it's gonnna be a bigger bill because now you are in dire straits

The saga continues 😂 I totally agree with you here. Being in heat mode now & the indoor coil acting as a condenser, being that the fans are plugged with dust/dirt, it totally makes sense as to the system running with high amps. High amps over a long period of time will definitely destroy a compressor. Every unit we have cleaned we had to cut down the ceiling to do so. That's how you know none of these units never had any proper maintenance done. Definitely need maintenance here. First we need proper access. It's truly incredible what's going on here. Indoor coils are the main reason compressors go on VRF systems. They really gotta be clean. Sometimes an EEV that’s bypassing also is very hard to catch it can cause these failures.

The model plate is what you would expect at the disconnect. LGMV showed (INV input CT 9.6 amps) (INV input VT 215 volts). Looks normal A proper test would be to put all IDU in heating. The compression ratio looks a little high Hard to read with everything in kpa and C. LGMV HI 414PSI LOW 95PSI INV discharge 163* Liquid 75*

Thank you for your input. It does show INV INPUT CT - 9.6 which would seem normal but it also shows INV PHASE CT - 25.2 and that was matching with the amperage my multimeter was getting at the compressor itself. I heard the amperage should be tested at the input of the VFD but am getting mixed opinions. I need to run a test with all the units set to heating and cooling. Much appreciated. Good thought, PHASE CT will always be higher than INPUT CT. That's the magic of the inverter board. Frequency will vary as well. @@JumpermanTech

Correct. If you look at your screenshot inv DC link is 280 vdc that is the driving supply for the CT 25.2 amps. It is a DC generated sign wave that is a fake AC given to the compressor. That way the frequency can be varied from 55-155 Hz (I think, (135Hz) don't remember high end for sure have it written down somewhere) @@JumpermanTech

Thank you for your support! When I was testing the bridge diode on the converter board I tested it wrong at first in the video but also in the video right after I tested it correctly by switching the positive and negative leads. I misread the testing instruction at first but corrected it right after and confirmed there was nothing wrong. People always have something to say online. I could have edited that part out of my video but I like the show the true thinking process. Things happen on the job but in the end, I did test it properly & I am narrowing down the issues here. you have to have inverted traps only the filter casing needs to go Starving compressor of oil

Filter casings definitely need to go. No traps as far as I could see here on the roof and nothing on the indoor units. Many have mentioned the inverted traps. Need to figure out how to configure that and recommend that here. Thank you for your input & happy holidays! 🔧⚡️

When you showed the indoor unit data . It showed 2 indoor units that were at 0 degress superheat . You are slugging the compressor and washing the oil out of the compressor. I would locate those indoor units and do checks on the eevs . You will most likely hear the refrigerant pouring through the coil with the units off .

Liquid temp is low in both and LOW pressure is low in this chart. Running all indoor units on high fan will tell the truth of the matter. You maybe low on charge.

I am wondering out how to properly check the outdoor and indoor EEV. Let's talk about those inside units, one video I thought you said 9 IDU, but LGMV screenshot showed 6 - 9,9,9,7,7,7 for a total of 48k, that blew my mind to have a 72k out door unit only serving 48k. unit charge is 16.8 lbs ? You added something like 404 oz or 25 lbs. That's 8 lbs for 6 IDU at 1.3 lbs each. It sure could be over charge @@JumpermanTech

@mechanicalpros3214 For most units, it usually handles 8 or 9 indoor units from what I have seen. You are correct here. It says 6 IDU written on the unit and I'm looking at the screenshot. It says 7,7,7,9,9 & 9 BTU units. It is a 72,000 BTU outdoor unit & the indoor units total to 48,000 BTU's. I recovered 440 OZ to be exact and that is what I charged it back with. 25.5 LBS of R410A
