I love the footage of the woodpecker. I have smaller ones in my yard in Oregon. Fitz Roy is pretty spectacular, but much of the trail reminded me of places near me that you might like to see: Mt. Oregon and Washington have some gorgeous scenery with waterfalls, old growth forests, and fields of wildflowers.

Absolutely stunning. This is filmed on the Gopro 10? What are the settings on your Gopro, if you happen to have them handy? Do you adjust the colors in editing?
@JumpingPlaces2 жыл бұрын
Hey Gabe, this is on the gopro hero 9. Our setting are pretty standard: linear, 1080p, 60fps and we have the gopro color mode on. We don't do any extra color grading to the gopro footage as it is already quite saturated on its own, sometimes it can look too saturated but other times it really makes the colors pop nicely so we use it. For the zoomed footage we always use our iphone 12 pro which has been super handy, we never bought the phone thinking about the camera but now we probably use it for 30-40% of broll footage and layover footage. Regarding keeping the details in the gopro footage on the export, i found its all to do with the export bitrate. A while ago i filmed a mountain in myanmar and on my exported video the mountain was all fuzzy and not detailed and i couldn't work out why as the original gopro video was fine and detailed. I then found out that its all to do with the bitrate size, so you have probably noticed that gopro files are super huge which sucks for disk space but its the reason the camera captures so much details. KZbin recommends a bitrate of around 15-18 mpbs so i always used that but that is the reason so much detail was lost. If you check the bitrate of the original gopro files its around 50-100 mbps so you are removing loads on the export. I started to export the videos at around 35mbps (35000 kbps) and then noticed that it kept way more of the details even with objects in the distance. The only issue is now the edited videos are 8gb in size lo! They used to be around 1.5-2gb in size at the lower bitrate. Obviously if you are somewhere with bad internet this is going to cause way more issues with the upload time and also with disk space e.t.c but thats what we have been doing.
@GabrielTravelerVideos2 жыл бұрын
Right on, good to know. I'm sure that one reason the quality is looking especially good in this video is the super bright sunlight. That makes all the difference with these little action cameras. My latest video in Paris was filmed with the Gopro 10, doesn't look nearly as good on a cloudy, gray day.
@JumpingPlaces2 жыл бұрын
yeah you are right, these action cameras suck in low light! Becomes grainy and even the stabilization gets much worse
