Absolutely beautiful video guys, really captured the incredible scenery. My son and I (32 and 63) returned from Patagonia a week ago. I watched this before we went and again when we returned. We got grey but clear weather for our walk to Fitzroy and I have to agree it is possibly one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen too. We were fortunate to witness a couple of avalanches into Laguna Sucia whilst we were there. You definitely provided inspiration for our trip to Santiago, Ushuaia, Puerto Natales and El Chalten. Thank you for taking the trouble to film it for everyone. Superb.

Amazing video, you seem lovely people. Patagonia is incredible! I had the understood that flying drones there is not allowed! The images are spectacular but if that is the case, please respect the laws. they exist to protect the national park. Cheers. !!

Hey, greetings from an Argentinian living in Spain. Love watching your videos from my country, makes my feel at home and as you, I did have the fortune to almost covered it all. Have to say that I did Mount Fitz Roy trail myself and you are totally right, there's no way that the last part of the track it's just 1 km. Hope you managed to visit Mendoza, for me, the best "provincia" in the country. Cheers and all the best!

After we did the hike I read a few reviews saying the last section is way more than a km, for us it was the rain & flies combo with the incline at the end that got us! 😅 Totally worth it though, we we’re actually speechless when we first arrived over the ridge 😍

Thank you for another wonderful video. I will be in El Chalten for almost a week and hope to complete this hike. I'm curious as to what time you started? And what time did you finish? All the videos I've watched so far say to start before sunrise. I even bought a headlamp specifically for this hike.
@TideKnotTravellers2 жыл бұрын
If you have a week it might be nice to camp at one of the two campsites along the hike (we walk through them in the video) many people do that to break the hike up and enjoy the nature longer and yes then it’s a great idea to get up early and head up there. We left our accommodation at 8am but it took us a while to puck up food and walk to the start of the trail so we started around 9.30am from the trail start sign (shown as Kirsty walks under the sign at the start) it takes us longer due to filming on the way up and we spent around 1.5 hours at the top. We left around 4pm to head back down and it took us around 4.5 hours so we were in darkness for the last hour and needed our head torches 🔦 there are restaurants as soon as you finish the hike which are a very welcome sight 😅
@bettyli66352 жыл бұрын
@@TideKnotTravellers I can't wait to do this. I also think I'm luck in that the sunset difference is a few hours too! Camping one night would be awesome too. I'd have to look into renting some equipment but would probably do the one day trek. I saw somewhere that you can "cheat" and take a taxi to another starting point to remove a few kilometers from the hike.
@TideKnotTravellers2 жыл бұрын
@@bettyli6635 Yes if you are going at a time of year with longer daylight hours then you’ll be fine. We enjoyed walking back even though it got dark we heard more wildlife then which was exciting. Yes you can get a taxi to cut out the first bit but then you miss the beautiful views overlooking El Chalten. It’s a good option though if short on time. You can rent camping equipment in lots of places in the town, many do it and there are signs everywhere for camping rental equipment.

While Fitzroy is certainly considered one of hardest peaks for Mountaineers, I'm curious as to how you've never mentioned the Peak that lies only 4km from Fitzroy, and got many years was called the hardest peak in the world - that is Cerro Torre - sheer rock face of 10,000 feet with a mushroom of rime ice on its apex Check it out - it's STUNNING

@TideKnotTravellers2 жыл бұрын
We tried so hard to get to Torres del Paine but during our time in EC the land border to Chile was still closed, everyone was gutted and some were taking some long convoluted routes to get there which we considered but it would have added days of travel. Chile were still being quite strict/difficult about letting people in. Now it has opened so you should be ok.
