Local Petenero here, the Tikal national park is more than just ruins, it is a wildlife ecosystem because it is in the Mayan biosphere, they could also go to Yaxha which is a smaller park but with less people or go to "Arcas" which is an animal shelter for our ecosystem

You are right. This site ranks up there as one of the best in the world. I personally think it should be a wonder of the world along with Angkor Wat. I mean how do those get left out, right? Glad you had a great time. There is another smaller temple complex that's even more emerged into the rainforest called Yaxha. If you get a chance check it out. Enjoy!

I first visited Guatemala back in the 1990's and fell in love with the country and people. Tikal was a special experience, especially because I took a night hike in the jungle with a ranger and saw the animals and critters that come out a night, like huge tarantulas. I actually camped in Tikal in small wood sheds in the national park. I wonder if those camping sheds are still available.

I was at a dinner party yesterday talking to friends about your videos and these beautiful countries that no one speaks of. Guatemala is on my bucket list and I cant wait to see El Salvador. I live in Los Angeles, come from Mexican parents, have known Guatemalan and Salvadorean people my whole life. Its such a shame that Ive never heard anyone mention the beauty of these places. I was going to plan a trip to Thailand (Ive been twice), but this may be something completely new and closer for me to explore. Thank you for opening this up to the world.

Yeah, Guatemala has that affect to people they get sad leaving. There's more of Guatemala than just than four places. Guatemala has 200 miles of Pacific Coast and 50 miles of Carabean Coast as well. Also going to the highlands like Xela second most important city in the country, Chichi or Chichicastenango. Livingstone in the Carabean. Guatemala city has a lot to offer as well. Guatemala city is underrated as well as the country. Be safe, and remember, Guatemala is not going. anywhere it will be there for you. Salu2!

Templo 1 = 47 metros. Templo 2 = 38 metros. Templo 3 = 55 metros. Templo 4 = 65 a 70 metros. Templo 5 = 57 metros. Templo 6 = 12 metros. Templo 33 = 33 metros.

Guatemala is gorgeous and has a lot to offer (based on your videos along with other sites I have researched), but Mexico is much larger and has so many other sites to visit and experience. Also, while Guatemalan cuisine is good, Mexican cuisine is more varied and at another level. That being said, I think both countries are definitely worth visiting. I think Guatemala's one advantage over Mexico is overall less tourists, which is always a plus.

I visited Tikal about 10 years ago. It is absolutely the greatest of the known Myan ruins. It's at least an all-day adventure. Arrive at sun up, bring breakfast (eat at the top of a pyramid). Hollar monkeys were screaming the entire time. Lots of spider monkeys, too. Much better access than other Myan sites we've visited. We almost skipped Guatemala, based on the U.S. State Dept warnings. The people we interacted with in Peten were super friendly. Order tepezcuintle at a local restaurant. It's delicious.

Hi!I really enjoy your travel videos_especially those of Gautamala.However I am very much of the view that viewers should be made aware of the security and safety situation of these countries as that becomes a major concern when travelling to unknown distant terrains.And also the health facilities.We are aware of these factors in familiar terrain like Europe,Asia and Australia.But the Latin region is very unfamiliar to Asians like myself Would love to visit Gautamala but these are concerns.

Just a tip... The main reason the people who lived there is believed tobe. The leader to make His city and road more beautiful. He had them painted white with a crushed stone. The ? Calcium by?, can't spell it. Did fact make the elevated road beds look white, so did the building. But the run off water from rains, became TOXIC. They water there crops with the rain water collected. Over time everyone got sick and died. Crops died, whole city's starved to death. So, don't forget...don't paint your driveway 🎉.

Can you imagine the number of trees being cut down-for what purpose? This site is a protected area because of its incredible biodiversity. It serves as a vital “lung” for the Americas, and it is currently under threat as cartels and African palm companies take over large hectares of land. These trees are thousands of years old, and cutting them down is entirely unnecessary and unjustifiable. The forest doesn’t need an influx of visitors; it is home to countless animals that deserve to live in peace.

Commercials arent fun
@carolinadanson8 сағат бұрын
Ads (the ones that KZbin automatically inserts or other sponsored placements that we do) are the way we make money to keep traveling and making these videos. They’re literally 90% of the money we make and without them we would have to stop traveling and making videos as we don’t have other sources of income that are not related to KZbin. We’ve talked about this in a video before but we’re extremely selective with the companies that we work with and even though we might get over 10 new emails with opportunities per day we only chose to work with brands that we genuinely like. However please know that you can skip the ads if you want to.
@JumpingPlaces8 сағат бұрын
Commercials are the reason people can create content on youtube and can get paid. No commercials would mean you probably wouldn't have any of your videos to watch on youtube. Its like expecting someone to go to their office job and not receive a salary for the work.
