Croatia looks like if you crammed all the other countries into one, it literally has everything from the sea, rivers, mountains, forests, small deserts, lakes, swamps and plains that you can't see the end of, and besides that, it has all the seasons

Croatia is certainly one of the most beautiful and diverse countries in the world. With such different climate zones, it's almost unbelievable for such a small country. I was with the military in Karlovac. A little south of there in Lika is the coldest winter, a little west behind the mountains is Dalmatia with the warmest winters. In the east of Croatia you have the continental climate with cold winters and warm summers. In percentage terms, Croatia is one of the countries in the world with the most freshwater.

BEAUTIFUL DUBROVNIK
@macakdbk5 ай бұрын
I am already following you for years and I was waiting for this one! Again, I feel guilty for not being home to guide you around and give you the best tips of the area. I thought you guys are there now, but then Croatia lost 2 weeks ago against Spain so I guess you are already somewhere else. The sea temperature today is 29C, so not cold for Carol. In Dubrovnik you always buy this city pass that allows you onto the walls, Lokrum island (which is beautiful),The cable car and some other museums. Like this it, is a pretty good deal. And off course, eating in the old city centre is always more expensive, because these owners pay a lot of money to the city council for a terrace permit, and transport permits for deliveries into the old town. Also , the Supermarkets in the immediate vicinity of the old town have higher prices because of the tourists, and are mostly owned by German owners such as Kaufland and Lidl. I still think Dubrovnik is not super expensive , but it all depends on where you go for dinner. Next time visit my village of Mlini (4km from where you were staying), Cavtat (7km from where you were staying), and take a rent a car and make a tour of the peninsula Peljesac with its wineries and the island of Korcula. Greetings from the Atlantic, passed the Azores, arriving in Algeciras, Spain the day after tomorrow. Greetings from your fan! Absolutely love your work!

@TheSouth-j7f5 ай бұрын
Dubrovnik is probably the most expensive place in Croatia. The prices are high in the high season as a way to deter too many tourists overrunning the place. The wall walk is a must though, you guys needed to budget for it. I walked the walls a long time ago and back then it was cheap and the sea views were amazing.
@mattkop57555 ай бұрын
the prices are intentionally unaffordable to reduce crowds which are overwhelming during summer, even UNESCO asked Dubrovnik to reduce visitors or loose its status as world heritage.

Croatia is a small country, but it has one of the largest coastlines in the world with 1,200 islands and islets. for example, by the size of the coast, it is larger than France, Cuba, Portugal, Spain, Thailand Popular destinations must be expensive like Venice or Monte Carlo. Before the euro, it was cheap for everyone from Western Europe. now the prices have only leveled off like elsewhere, and Croatians still have two or three times less wages than others in the EU. The Adriatic coast is large and has places for those with richer pockets, and for the rest you just need to do more research -Jumping Places visited Split-Dubrovnik-Hvar, these are expensive tourist places
@JumpingPlaces5 ай бұрын
we visited Omis too which barely had any tourists and the food still seemed pricey, attractions there were definitely more reasonable though. 10 euros for a boat tour and 5 euros for a fort visit. We also stayed in Čibača in this video in a local residential area and it was still 65 euros which isn't exactly super affordable either to be in a random place
@JumpingPlaces5 ай бұрын
out of curiosity what are these budget coastal places? I see other comments talking about them but nobody mentions any names
@alexhorvath92775 ай бұрын
@@JumpingPlacesIsland of Krk, Island of Rab, town Crikvenica, Rijeka ... Šibenik and Zadar are also cheaper than Split and south. Split, Korcula, Dubrovnik are places where Americans go and they are ready to pay. The places I mentioned are more popular with Europeans ... Again you have expensive places in the northern coast like Rovinj or Opatija.
@mario-mk6gc5 ай бұрын
look, when we say there are cheaper places, it doesn't mean that the whole destination is cheaper than in almost every destination, if you do a little research, there are many cheaper places to drink and eat. I've been to Dubrovnik twice and you ate at Stradun itself or in centers, taverns or national parks where it is always more expensive, but already 200-300 meters away you can eat and drink much cheaper. You need to do a little research. When I was in Dubrovnik, I drank and ate 3 times cheaper in Lopud than in the old one city. So, there are no cheap destinations, but cheaper restaurants and bars in every place, but rarely in the top places where you have been.@@JumpingPlaces
@gorangojun9245 ай бұрын
@@JumpingPlaces The island of Brac and especially Hvar are expensive. Rich people with yachts, Hollywood actors, singers and athletes come to Hvar. from Split, locals go to the island of Solta, which is located opposite Brac. It is less noisy and expensive. can be reached by ferry in 30 min. Near Split, less than 1 hour's drive away, there are places like Trilj, Sinj or Imotski with local food and less expensive restaurants. it is a beautiful nature with lots of greenery it was in the news that the Italians were asking for payment just to enter the center of Venice. In Barcelona, tourists are shot with water guns. You will not have such inconveniences in Croatia. Croats are hospitable people and if you make friends you won't pay anything. My advice is to communicate with local people as much as possible. Croatia is also one of the safest countries in the world. The city of Dubrovnik must be expensive because it is one of the most famous cities that are in the top destinations on all tourist lists - after all, it is a city with a lot of real history that has existed for more than 1000 years.
