Man, Japanese people are in their own league for their manners and professionalism. There's a famous saying here 空気を読む (kūki wo yomu) which means 'read the air (situation)'. That's why they are very concious and good at their non-verbal communication. Even when you visit any convenience store here, you will feel like a king because of their customer service

I used to be very polite with most people but when I entered in professional life, I noticed that people took me for a chump pretty much.
