@@girlinwonderland4278 Actually the story is totally different. It was Atif and his brother who managed/arranged the concert and Gohar and shazi weren't in the city and they had no idea. Atif didn't tell them but some of their mutual friends told Gohar when when he came to Lahore (or he came after hearing it) and they went to the concert venue but they wouldn't let them in as the people there only knew Atif as a performer and this is how their band broke and Farhan came on. Its a well known story among the musicians of that time and I was one of them. Atif's brother wanted him to go solo so all the earning/fame would be his. Actually the real culprit (lol) was Atif's brother who also became Atif's manager.. No mater the case, even if Gohar was in the wrong m which he wasn't, that doesn't give anyone the right to steal his work (songs). To this day, i am still disappointed at what Atif did to Gohar and to this day he doesn't admit but we (other musician, including me, of that era) know. It would have been a great band Gohar, Atif and Shazi even way bigger than Gohar Farhan and Shazi. And in the end Farhan also left because he gained huge popularity by then and he wanted to be like Atif. Atif is unique and not everyone can be like him and Farhan couldn't be like Atif and then he started acting.

Shahbaz Aslam (if I'm recalling the name well) elder brother of Atif Aslam and his manager at the time, was the reason behind the split of Jal. He suggested Atif to go solo, it was a breach of trust and the contract on behalf of Atif and the episode became ugly once it went into the courts. It's funny to read the comments of some kids claiming Gohar was behind it. Jal was his child, Aadat was his child, Woh Lamhe was his child, he was the composer, producer and lyricist of the band. Jalpari was the only contribution of Atif, there is a reason why he never produced anything original or famous on his own since he went solo, which only proves that he was never the soul behind Jal.

As a huge Jal fan back in the day I know it broke my teenage heart when I heard about the split. I was reluctant to accept Farhan Saeed as th replacement but when he grew on me he left the band as well. Tragedy they could have done so much more with their talent.
