Once again my brother,an awesome video !!! You gave me some good idea`s for warm up`s... Question, Do you alternate a different Ryu-ha every class as the warm up ? Or do u prefer a certain Ryu-ha to use for warm ups ?

This is a good question, and it depends on the content we're working on. Example; Takagi Yoshin Ryu - if this is the topic, then there is a TON o shikkou and lower body, as you simply cannot study this art without that conditioning... OR, Koto Ryu, then expect to be doing more leaping. But the general warm up everyone at my Dojo knows is this video, but yes.. it can vary.

Great resource Ads! Different Sokuho geri mechanics than what Morris taught. Would you teach it same way for Kihon waza as opposed to a warm up version?

I do indeed, much slower.

Hello, what is difference between this and genbukan and bujikan.. I live in denver. About 15 yrs ago I studied yoshin ryu jujutsu at a bujikan dojo but the yoshin was a separate lineage taught on it's own.. I never knew of other ninpo, j found school called kusa dojo. They were a genbukan school, now teaching ten chi wa taijutsu. I believe its still genbukan. I am interested in learning ninpo and jujutsu. Do you know anything of this school. Is there anyone you would recommend in denver Thank you

Richard, thanks for your message. Unfortunately, I do not know anything about this school. To your original question; both founders of the Genbukan and Jinenkan, were top students of the founder of the Bujinkan. All three have their unique differences and I can only speak on behalf of the Jinenkan. While we train very much of the same lineages, our primary focus is on strong foundational training. Even each teacher is slightly different, where my personal focus is on fundamentals, fitness, meditation and sparring. I hope this helps.

First few looked like combat military form then is melded into kata dance forms. I tr thought this was about striking. Hard TMA. But it's aikido footwork soft.

it's a stretching and warm up routine, used before entering into the cardio of a regular class, nothing special here.

I believe if anyone involved in J kan had actually practiced qith Takamatsu Osensei when he was young the atrikingband movement would be more e vital and less taichi. Old men don't jump or throw knockout punches. So... i leave you to react ot overreact to my opinion. I do not believe Kane Doshi would approve. That's all. Looks like a knockoff faux scroll tutorial. I've seen dozens. Ive seen the real scrolls for at least 4 different traditions. Including those held my Takamats soke. I studied even those he destroyed..he did so long before the current sokes were practiced. He didn't know what he had. His uncle had hidden them ahortly before his families match factory burned down.

Thank you for sharing. Are you referencing my stretching routine, as a 'faux scroll tutorial'? Sorry, just a bit confused over your collective point here.

Good thing we don't all start out as old men when we begin training, I guess. Must have some real skill and knowledge to judge an entire school based on a warm up.
