Excellent point. She was in a privileged position to be at home for her girls too. So many families would love to be in her position to be able to stay home with their children. =/

I tried in the past to read James burke’s books. I didn’t care for his writing either. My reading interests have changed. I used to read true crime, crime fiction and mysteries and thrillers. Now I hardly ever read them. I want to try Nathanial philbrick’s books. I’ve read that stonewall Jackson was an odd kinda guy. It’s so bad that his soldiers loved him and then he was shot by a fellow soldier. I have rebel yell but have yet to read it. I want to read about all the civil war generals. A lot were friends but have to fight against each other. Ive read that some confederate leaders did not like Jefferson Davis. Maybe if it had been someone else it might have been a different outcome who knows? I read somewhere that the doctors probed Lincoln’s brain and did more damage than the bullet. Did it explore that in bloody crimes.

Thank you for the info on James Burkes. I was wondering if it was just that book. I won't give him another try. He's not for me. There are a lot of booktube creators who read what you used to enjoy. In Rebel Yell I didn't get that Jackson was odd. I did wonder if he had been in the power position that Lee was, then the war would have been different. It seemed that Jackson was better at strategy. There was a book I've read that talks about how all the heavy hitters in the war, that they all attended West Point together and also fought in the Mexican/American war. They knew how each other thought and fought. In Rebel Yell there were some examples of how McClellan was used to doing really well with hardly any effort, but he didn't have the grit needed. Plus, he didn't like that the purpose of the war was being changed. I want to read about him too. Do you have recommendations? I don't recall reading that the doctor's did more damage to his brain, (in Bloody Crimes), but that the doctor's knew he'd die. They just stood around waiting for him to die instead of attempting the surgery. In the book it does mention the brain surgery after Lincoln died.

@@BookZealots I have George b McClellan, young Napoleon by Stephen w sears. I haven’t read it yet. I also want to read more about him since so many criticize him. James Longstreet also faced much criticism after the war. Do you think if Jackson had been at Gettysburg the winner of the war may have been different. Jackson and Lee were such a great team I want to think so. Lee felt the loss of Jackson greatly I think. It might have agreed his decisions knowing Jackson wasn’t there. West Point was definitely a factor in the war considering so many leaders went there. I have stonewall Jackson the man the soldier the legend by James I Robertson jr. And stonewall, a novel heroes in time by John j Dwyer.

@@user-iz6cc6lz3j-Vickie When I read Team of Rivals McClellan came across to me as lazy, but it didn't come across as putting him in a bad light. it was just a conclusion I came to. The same is true for Bloody Crimes. I think had Lee taken DC in 1862 when he was across the river things would have been different. Or if Jackson had been there instead of Lee. That was a critical point in the war and Lee threw it away. I just added James I Robertson jr.'s book to my goodreads tbr.

@YesIJournal Do you bible journal? If so, would you be okay with doing a flip through video of it? @BookZealots No, I don't Bible journal as most women keep a diary of sorts of their feelings while they read the Bible. I wasn't even sure what you meant by your question. Is this what you meant? Is this Amanda? @YesIJournal replied: "@BookZealots Okay. I thought perhaps you did keep the type of bible that you can write in the notes on the side. P.S. Who’s Amanda?" @YesIJournal (edited) Okay. I thought perhaps you did keep the type of bible that you can write in the notes on the side. @BookZealots Interesting. Why would you think that? @YesIJournal Well, being that you’re a fellow christian I just assumed @BookZealots Well now you have me even more intrigued. How long have you been Bible journaling and which Bible version do you use? And I have to ask, what kind of Christian are you? Troll removed her comments again.
