Both of your finished jumpers are lovely! I particularly like the sweater by Celine. Great podcast, thanks. Always love seeing you.

Thank you for another lovely and chic video! I have fallen in love with the Winnie sweater and can’t wait for the release! Thank you for introducing me to it 😊 I can relate to what you were saying about the fit of a traditional hand-knit as opposed to the sleek and elegant look which one can find in ready-to-wear. I sometimes struggle to find a hand-knit which will satisfy both my love of knitting, and my love of neutral, oversized jumpers which pair well with a beautiful pair of wide-legged trousers for instance. I find My Favourite Things Knitwear probably is the closest to my heart in that respect; I knit her Sweater n.8 twice last winter and for me, it definitely has that chic and understated vibe. Looking forward to seeing you in video again soon! Enjoy the Italian summer, over here in Paris, it still hasn’t arrived 😢

Hi! So glad you enjoyed the video. The Winnie Sweater is beautiful - and out now. The designer has added some really thoughtful details that make it interesting. The outfit you described sounds absolutely perfect, and I will be looking for classic oversized sweaters that can give me a more "ready to wear" fit. I agree about My Favourite Things - she is an icon for a reason. Wishing you a wonderful summer in Paris (I'm so jealous)!

Hi❤ what great projects! I never frog the Italian bandoff. I just cut it off. otherwise I will need a psychotherapist 😌😑 From summer products, I can recommend camisole number five - I adore it and am already knitting a second one.
@OrsaMakes6 ай бұрын
Oh my goodness - I felt like I needed a long rest after unpicking it. An absolute nightmare! Camisole No. 5 is so cute. I made one last year but am considering doing another in a darker colour. Have a great weekend :)

I have the same problem with double knitting before the italian bindoff. I really don't understand how other knitters make it not tight like me so I'm glad to hear that we're on the same team 😂 ALSO: I feel the exact same about handknit sweaters vs. storebought. I need my handknits TIGHT or superduper oversized. A lot of patterns are somewhere inbetween and they make me feel like a potato.
@OrsaMakes5 ай бұрын
Exactly!! I can never make it loose enough. It's so nice to hear someone who shares my opinion about fit. I feel like so many patterns kind of dwell in that 'potato' territory, which can be so frustrating!

Watching this while making my LKF tonight top. I also played around with the sizing. I am in between sizes so I sized my needles down to a 3mm and knitted the larger size. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

It's such a great design, but tricky to work out for those of us between size. I just tried mine on this morning and I'm happy with the fit so far. Fingers crossed it works out for us both!

I def get what you mean about handknit fit. I am very peaky about fit and it takes me time to find the right patterns. I think the english tailoring constraction and knitting flat to then sew the pieces can make the garments look better fitting. Loved your video, and Lulu slipover is def on my list! Just havent decided on what to wear it with and the yarn.
@OrsaMakes6 ай бұрын
Yes, I was wondering about different constructions. I may have to look into patterns that are knitted flat (although I dread all the purling and seaming). The Lulu is a great design with a really interesting shape. I feel like it definitely doesn't look 'homemade'. Good luck if you decide to cast it on!

Just had to comment on two things! Firstly, I’m currently knitting a very simple raglan sweater with the exact colour of Drops Air that you’ve knit your Winnie Sweater in and having slight project envy😅. Secondly, I’ve just finished knitting a child size version of the Lulu slipover and even that size tested me on all the finishing - especially the double knit bands! However, having washed and blocked it I have to admit that those finishing details are lovely and worth the extra time. During the process of knitting though, I did keep moaning about how long this was taking me and how I hadn’t realised that before starting. So, I’m sure yours will look beautiful in the end but I completely relate to how you’re feeling about the process!

Oh my goodness - great minds think alike! I feel that the Lulu will be worth the hassle (even if I moan about it along the way). The Winnie Sweater is really beautiful and I highly recommend it if you get your hands on some more Drops Air in the future - it was so quick too!

I enjoyed your Video again very much and I love to hear your British accent... I recently finish ed the Agave Sweater by Yumiko Alexander. I knitted it with Drops Bomull Lin in dark Blue. It was fun and a quick knit also. I will also try one of the bags you recommended in the speacial bag video. Best wishes from Cologne! 🎉

Thank you for this great video❣️I find your thoughts on the fit of typical constructions very interesting 😊 I am currently writing up a pattern for a short sleeved romantic cardigan and this gives me more hope that there might be knitters out there who would like take on the challenge of seaming in sleeves ❤
@OrsaMakes6 ай бұрын
I am so curious about trying seaming in sleeves - I was nervous about it at the beginning but not really want to try different constructions. I hope your new pattern goes well! Good luck :)

Thanks for the video and absolutely agree on fit. I’m still learning through trial & error on that one. Any tips for sizing up to get a boxier fit but so the shoulder etc aren’t falling off you, sleeves too wide etc.
@OrsaMakes6 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! I'm still learning with fit too and always customising in search of that perfect fit. I find that one thing I kind of stick by is trying to go for at least 15cm of bust ease for that boxy fit that doesn't cling on my hips. This works well for me but everyone is different. It can be a challenge when your bust and hips measurements don't align with set sizes but I'm trying to see it as part of becoming a better knitter :)

Hey there :) I tried to make the Lanta bag and had to take a break on it for a while. I was messing up the YOs as well and the yarn I chose was not ideal. Let us know if you figure out the trick with the YOs :) Best of luck! 🧶 For summer knits I recommendation the Margaux Top by Gregoria Fibers (which I am working on now) :)

Thank you for the recommendation! I don't know what it is about yarn overs - they just confuse my brain. I will let you know if I finally get the hang of it!
