@solarpanel81953 жыл бұрын
This is actually one of The hardest steps for an addict. Depending on where you live. I don't think people realize just how Hard it truly is, to surround yourself with good ppl doing good things in a poverty environment. I live in the hood and it's not even that bad. Typical city with drugs n gangs but we also have nice areas. And I know most people around here. But I literally only know probably 2 people I could even call to be around, who are truly good ppl without bad addictions. Literally everyone else is either constantly drinking/having tons of sex/doing drugs or crimes Something negative.... and what are we supposed to do, go knock on doors in the suburbs until we find good ppl n ask if they wana hang out ? Lol. This actually made me think about this subject deeply. We desperately need more outreach programs in all our communities where Good people can donate their time to go hang around kids like this and do anything, ride bikes with them, Something to keep their minds occupied while giving them all the good advice you can. If a person like myself had access to a program like this, I could've probably kicked my addiction a lot sooner. Another thing is, most ppl only focus on helping kids, but a lot of us addicts never grew up so we are 25-35 year old kids out here just looking for a friend or someone good to be around but we can't find it.. just some things for people to think about. This issue is very scary on the other side... it's a terrifying feeling to wake up every day knowing you're about to be deathly ill if you can't find a dose...
@theoilguy91253 жыл бұрын
He's not done yet no. I was a opiate pac man for 15 years. Sometimes I would not have a spending limit for 3 or 4 months at a time. IF I over came it (4 years sober) anyone can. My brain fogs and cravings lasted the better part of 2 years. Since then, my new high is being sober. I forget what it felt like being almost out of high school, and happier then ever while being sober. It's crazy, it's a battle, it's the devil in disguise.... a catch 22 I call it. Encouraging people you know who speak about there problem will do wonders with the right approach of course.
@solarpanel81953 жыл бұрын
@@theoilguy9125 I don't like when ppl say If I can do it anyone can because we have no idea what battles each individual faces in life. From a broken home, to abuse, or mental issues, it's just not the same for everyone. I knew some ppl who could do dope n smoke cigarettes only when they party. When they weren't partying they never touched them. So everyone is very different in their own ways

@@solarpanel8195 the only difference is the strength and weakness I f someone's will and desire to kick it. We can go on and on about my childhood. This is a good dude. Not that others aren’t there is something about jr. I believe he would take help and run with it. You gotta want to quit. Until then no trouble you get in or talked to till they are blue in the face. I believe he wants to quit. Prayers go out to you my brother. I wish I could get in touch with him somehow.

That's the problem instead of helping him out and supporting him in a positive way they just toss him aside like yesterday's trash. Sometimes it's the mother or the father being selfish due to their own toxic relationships but you never know until you step in his shoes
