That's a real mystery. Wish I could help. You're our guide with all the GS500 how-to. If anyone can fix it, you can. Also, kitty at 0:47!

1. Stitch Kitty is a Pixie Bob. He didn't lose his tail. They come that way! 2. We're narrowing it down to right intake valve. Either closing late (sometimes) or the valve bucket sticking. Air is puffing OUT if the right intake. Confirmed with carbs off and manually turning engine.

1. your cat's tail has gone missing 2. have you squirted starter fluid or carb cleaner around the head to jugs joint? maybe you've got a seam building there? Had an old outboard that bridged cylinders, wore a nice rut in the head as time went on, and we had no idea until it got into pretty bad shape.

It would be good to join gstwins.com. Posting the question there we can get into more details and others can help with your purchase and what to look for. If you have a compression meter, 140psi or higher is good. (140 is the low end). If the bike runs, then that is great and anything else is simple.
