10 years on man. How's it gone?
@ncflyfisher11 жыл бұрын
Languid, atmospheric, and hypnotically unsettling, it was directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikel Cee Karlsson and tells the story of an older man who is seemingly questioning his place in life. With slow-motion camera work that sweeps over the characters or pulls in slowly while they remain still-only one part of their body moving-the video is strangely beautiful yet foreboding and ominous at the same time.

Imagine how bad it feels for the people that have been watching from season 1 episode 1. Back when the show wasn't sure if anyone would watch. Back when they weren't sure if they were gonna get a second season. I was watching, and now its gone. The show is simply the best show on television. There will never be another show like it. Don't be sad because it's over, be happy because it happened. :)

I love how this song builds up till the end it just doesn’t let up; kind of like life. Inner conflict, personal struggle, relationships, self-reflection, realization, loss, and overcoming adversity is life’s memoir and it’s so nice to have a song that emotionalizes and personifies that.

"What would you do If it all came back to you Each crest of each wave Bright as lightning" Genius Annotation 1 contributor The narrator begins by setting the scene as a moment of sudden clarity. The opening shots - a reflection of the man he once was...the shaking hand - Alzheimers. The strongest memories are the early ones, like when he and his wife were young, their first kiss, his dad proud of him becoming a man. But now he can't remember who he was... His wife still there loving the man he was. She dreams of him young and passionate. In the last scene she is rubbing a pregnant belly....probably his own sons bedroom. This is not weird, incestuous, or twisted - it is beautiful, sad, and a reality many are living daily.

Does it matter how we got here?! We all hear music from different places. Who cares where, when, how or who liked this song first. Does it even matter? I see these comments all over the place and I don't get why people get so frustrated. Appreciate it for what it is. I heard this song from an amazing Breaking Bad trailer and it just blew me away. It fit perfectly and added so much to that promo, I couldn't get it out my mind. That's what's so fucking brilliant about music! I love hearing new songs/artists in TV and film. Watching movies and shows has helped me discover soooo much music that I love! I hope more people hear about Junip this way too. Awesome band. They deserve recognition, whichever way it gets to them is a good thing.

i dont understand the different people and whats happening in the video... can you explain it to me?
@FromDkWithLove8 жыл бұрын
I could try and offer a brief explanation, but I doubt I'll be able to do it any justice without writing a full essay, there is simply too much going on, especially on an emotional level. The focus in on the mature male protagonist and it pertains to him questioning the very nature and meaning of his entire symbolic universe. That includes his perception of Self and of the world around him in which expectations and norms has created fracture so to speak between his identity and reality. He is stuck in a loveless and sexless marriage in a state of disengagement and despair, resentment, self-loathing and horror... about who he is or who he has become, his expectations to life and that of those around him all while at the same time contemplating the futility of his existence and of his choices in life, following the path of expectations instead of following his heart and breaking free from conditioning and social inheritance. The boy is him when he was young. The way I see it he is contemplating about a time in his life where he could have chosen differently, a breaking point of sorts. The father symbolizes societal expectation with all its pervertions and he's likely the cause of his resentment and self-loathing. I, uh, there is just so much more to it, just thinking about all the facets and implications is making my head spin. I guess that, for me, the symbolic meanings just make sense and I relate to the themes on an emotional level. I hope that my meandering interpretation was in some way useful to you.

I found the video "The Shining" creepy....
@GeorgeRappel7 жыл бұрын
It's most probably child abuse. The lyrics talk about feeling alone, like no one could help or understand you, which is possibly what most people feel when they are abused (sure it happens in other cases, such as depression). Along with an older woman having sexual relations with a boy since he was young, this song played during a child abuse episode of The Blacklist: S01E11.

The subject of this song finds himself suddenly confronted with the possibilities of an unknown future, one that offers both promise and vulnerability. At the point of decision, unsupported and facing their own demons, the protagonist chooses to step away from this opportunity - to step back from the line of fire - rather than forward into the risks. However, the narrator offers no judgement to his subject, rather noting that he’d “do the same as you.” by someone.

That blonde haired girl is exceedingly gorgeous! Her hair is exceptionally beautiful too. Its absolutely perfect, luxurious, thick & shiny. The old lady has some impeccable hair too. See, THATs how older women should keep their hair! I HATE how when most women get older, like at 50 or 60 they stop caring about their hair & cut it short. I HATE that! Its so ugly, unless they do it the right way & style it nice. Some older women look better with it short when they do it right but most look gross.

My take on the video: existence is an asymptote, it never reaches zero, but when it approaches zero, it ripples, vibrates, repeats, echoes. Every shot in this video is on a loop, similarly. I think we experience these ripples in the form of thought spirals or intrusive thoughts, waves extending from the ultimate cataclysm of the universe. We are stuck in time…for now…we are motionless frames that move, frame by frame. The disorder of the universes ending we perceive from the now place, rippling backwards from the end to begin again. Perhaps our inner demons are really these cosmic burps, indigestion, coming from the eternal effort the universe must take as to keeping itself alive.

And I ask myself about the scene where the man stands over the boy's bedside, shaking his right arm and smiling hideously in the boy's direction. Then, I see a family sitting at the kitchen table, and the man has his fork on a slab of meat. The meat is trembling and dripping wet. What the heck is this video all about and what's the connection to Breaking Bad, if it even has a connection? Perhaps some of the few lyrics is all. Kudos to Junip's success in getting his lyrics to the movie!!!
