I love how modest this man is. When asked about what major changes or improvements he made, he named every person of influence in his decision. And when he didn't, he shows doubt whether his decision were wise or not. I have an incredible amount of respect for him.

That's due to his japanese culture. Shame is a huge thing there, that's why they end up killing themselves so often, even kids as young as 11 years old every single year end themselves. Their personality and desires get squished to give space to the status quo. Even if they wanted to say "I'm the best" they wouldn't because that would mean social suicide. That's why you can't know for sure if someone is humble or honest in Japan. They even have a word for it: tatemae.

I just finished No Longer Human and the story of this man, Yozo Oba is so tragic and truly horrific as Ito says in the video. The horror that I sympathize with in the story and the character is that I hope not to have a life like this. Excellent story.

Man. This is weird. I’ve been having an itch to read No Longer Human again lately and thought to look up if there was a free audio book here on KZbin to listen to while I’m at work. Then I happen to see this video and learn my favorite artist/writer Junji Ito has now made his own adaptation of it. And with Christmas coming up. I think I’ll treat myself. But that’s such a weird coincidence.

Oba's Yozo character couldn't understand humans which is where all his hardships stem from, he doesn't know how to act like a human being when it comes to facing up to challenges, instead he's aware of them but doesn't know how to act during in situations. Reading it again has made me self conscious of everything

Sensei Ito really hit a home run with this one! It’s another level of great achievement and excellence! The manga is truly an epic as it the story was told in grand scale. There is no other manga or comics that can be read so raw, so detail like I was watching a movie by flipping pages! Truly a masterpiece on it’s own right!

@johnnyp19865 жыл бұрын
Xandra the Barbarian well it is not like they’re going to make a video for people to talk about their opinions on Boruto. A comment like this shouldn’t distract you or anyone from the content of the video. At the time of making that comment, this was the most recent video on the channel so more likely at least someone will see it, like you.
