I've noticed in the bags I've purchased the dimes don't have as much average ware as Washington quarters; and Kennedys are great because they were in circulation for only couple years before they started to get horded and have very little ware on average.

A very good presentation! The coins of Weinman are my personal favorites, Mercury Dimes, and the Walking Liberty. I have been collecting since 1999. I don't have a lot of money to work with, but it adds up when you buy a little at a time. I can buy a few Mercury Dimes on Ebay in lots, then market and sell the ones that are not as good for as much or a little more than what I bought them for. That is the way one collects!

War Nickels are a good choice because if you have a dollar Face value of each denomination of silver coins, you get more silver with nickels then you will any other coin.

Just watched your last 3 uploads. Great job on good content. Just wanted to add on the tip jar video...I also look in the take a penny leave a penny bowls by the registers, when I tell the clerk why about 90% of the time the clerk says they will keep an eye out for me and it has paid off with several wheats at face and a few silver dimes at face, not to mention the non U.S. coins. You got a good deal on the dimes you bought at $1.80 a piece. APMEX gets about $2.40 to $2.55 per dime on their website.

I like the so called "junk" to go along with the bullion. nice vid. I have pulled some nice numi's from my junk. What's your take on bullion stack coins? I am partial to the Libertad. Most of my bullion is in Libs and Eagles. Lately the Libertads. Cheaper Premium and nice looking coin.

Junk silver is a good buy for common transactions. Junk silver is usually heavily circulated and little or no value above melt. Bullion (stacking) accumulation and coin collecting are contradictory objectives. They both have virtues, however, During hard times, the rarity premium plunges. Non-numismatic coins like Eagles or Maples are valued against the spot price of the metal regardless of condition. The non-numismatic value is comparable to that of Beanie-Babies.

very true i was recording from my phone just a cheap android so the Sony is a major upgrade plus i have a little tabletop tripod for my phone that the sony fits into that so worked out for my.Plus i'm usually recording my videos at home anyway..

Is it worth to stack with junk silver or decent grade coins even tho you are paying a premium for that coin? I had bought 3 liberty havles and thats only $7 in silver each but I pay $14 a coin plus shipping so after I got them I relized I could of had close to 3 oz of silver. Pretty much is it worth buying junk compared to the 1 oz bars and rounds??

No, No, No, Don't buy any junk silver based upon any numismatic / collectibilty factors. Only purchase junk silver based on best pricing relative to spot silver price - buy at the lowest premium over silver spot per oz.

Yes, the 64 Kennedy half - dollar is the only 90% KENNEDY half dollar out there, and that is why I don't really care for Kennedy halves because some of them are 90%, some are 40% and some are 0% silver ... depending on it's giver year of production. On the other hand, ALL Walking Libertys and Franklin halves are 90% silver. Makes it very easy to distinguish the good 90% half dollars. So I do prefer the Walkers over Kennedys for that reason, plus they're older and that just makes them that much more interesting . All Franklins are also all 90% silver, and they tend to be worn down less than the older Walkers so to me they are really the best for the money when it comes to the half - dollars.

Junk silver bins at coin shops are treasure troves as nearly 80-90% of the so called junk dimes are worth more numismatically than to silver bugs. Its not uncommon for me to find MS Silver roosevelt dimes, AU mercury dimes, rainbow toned coins, and barbers with near full liberty on the headband at my local coin dealer.

What about the seated liberty Dimes, (possibly XF or AU in more common dates) in the 'junk' silver bag?? I definitely agree with your point about Barber anything in the junk silver; always the most worn down and unattractive among all the series... And also, great info BlueRidge- Grab all the descent Standing Liberty Quarters and Walking Liberty Halves when purchasing larger Silver!! And you can't go wrong when buying Mercs & Nice looking Roseys for under $2 a piece... I have to be carefull that I just don't buy all dimes when I go through the junk bags!! Lol.

My local coin shop gets tons of junk silver . He send it to the refinery each month . I get many silver dollars for melt value . I hate some coin shops pull the silver dollars from the junk bin and sell them for the price of a 1oz eagle , bull shit . Everyone should download the silver coin calculator

On eBay typically you pay more for mercs or walkers i.e. More popular series of silver coins so,to me it evens out. If you pay more you get more if you pay less you get less. I haven't been able to find the more popular series at the same cost as the less popular when buying junk.

Coin shops and local coin ppl are rip offs here in MA! They still are selling them over priced like silver is 48$! I don't think they even understand spot. I recently got 50 XF merk dimes and my mom owns a shop and I bet I can charge people 3 times what I paid for one coin per sale and triple my money! No one understands what junk silver is worth but are familiar with spot silver by the ounce. People can get tricked into paying more per coin when I got each XF merk for 2.00$ each. I can easily sell them for 4$ or 6$ to tourists who see silver and think about what there grandfather had

+Construction And Stacking I recently purchased $10 face value XF mercs for $154, the newest of which was 1927. The dimes of 1927 are worth about $3 in this condition to a collector, about $1.01 to a Silverbug... I'm not sure I understand your rant... are you complaining because the coin shops are selling coins as a collectible thereby keeping you from hoarding silver at spot prices, or are you complaining because you can't sell a 3 dollar coin in your mother's shop for 4-6 dollars?

I'm thinking silver 90% Kennedy halves in 2014 will catch a good premium. Actually even the 40%'ers and some latter date clads. 3/4 of the population does not know the difference anyway. and the media is going to filling every news gap with 50th anniversary material. That is where my junk dollars are going. 90% bags of halves most will be lightly circulated Kennedy's. Full sets (and all) will catch a big premium if sold in the right place. 1/2 the pop has never saw a Kennedy half or does not know the difference in dates.
