What a fun resurrection! I had a 74 triple black, buckets & console, BB 400 that I sold to a friend of mine about 15 years ago for $1000. I've regretted that sale since the day it rolled away. It had typical rust behind the wheels, but otherwise in great shape. Perfect interior etc... He was supposed to call me if he ever sold it again, but didn't. Oh well. Time to work on the 70 Challenger.

Sweet Charger! Gotta love how it cranked right up. It's so cool that you've been on Roadkill Garage now, hopefully we will see more of you on there! Awesome stuff, except for the rat poop dust lol.

A third gen Charger or Road Runner has a feel of quality when you sit inside. Better than older Chargers and "A bodies". A "C" body (full size Chrysler product ) has that feeling even more.

Man brings back so many memories. That's how I had to start my 70 r/t SE 440 6 pack hemi 4 speed triple black when I was 17. And. My 72 charger with a 400 that I swapped out with a 383 from a Newport that was fast as hell. Back then the 400 was a dog. Love the videos

Those ignition boxes are a pain, and I swear the ones they make nowadays just ain't worth a damn. I put two of them on my '84 Dodge D150 in the three years I had it, miss that truck though, she burnt oil like crazy but she always went (Except when the box went bad). I really hate cleaning that crap off the firewall but you got to do it or the next time you replace it, it's probably gonna be glued in place. I had one of 'em stuck to the firewall so bad when I pried it off the box came off, ripping the connector off the board, leaving the circuit board stuck to the firewall. Like to never got that one loose! Keep up the great work!

I grabbed a 78 dodge 4x4 out of a field. Had an edlebrock intake, carb, those same valve covers, headers. Swear it had a cam in it too. It wasn't a rocket, but it sure was fun.
@ryurc30332 жыл бұрын
It also had a brand new ignition module in The glove box, and a voltage regulator. I was told ya just always kept one around because they would quit all the time.

Sweet! Glad to see you back!
@auteurfiddler87062 жыл бұрын
That intake looked like the "Edelbrock Streetmaster." It was designed to work in heavy, low horsepower smog motor cars with numerically low gears of the 1970s. The tech support guys said of the 383 version that it combines the worst of both worlds. Single plane open plenum, so you get no low end torque, and small runners, so you get no high speed flow. This was there own guys telling me this. " If you have any other manifold, even the stock two barrel, you should use that instead."

Huh a mac truck turner special, like man this is so close to that car from Truck Turner I'd half wonder if the vins would match if it just had a sunroof, the side molding and a black roof, and I gotta admit as I've aged I've really started to like these better than the general, you just gotta get the right color and body combo and then they shine like a friend of mine had a, I think 71 R/T white and black, really kinda cool and unique in its own way from the 70' pre coke bottle redesign.

An engine that’s been stood outside for a long time is gonna have a gallon of water in the oil pan built up from night condensation. A cheap oil change before firing would save a lot of future trouble.

I would have vacuumed some of the rat poop up or blew it off with an air hose or washed it down. Then used the water hose in the engine compartment. And put on the air filter if I skipped all the other things before starting it. It is a shame the driver side fender is hogged out for no good reason except probably a prior owner thought that would be easier than pulling out the fold in fender.

Yeah, Jerry, it would be cool to see a 30 part A to Z build series on cars like Patina or Leonard’s Charger. But think about it: there’s no film crew or editing department. His vids are all him. From wrenching to recycling the hides! 👍👍 We get a glimpse into the world of one dude with the skills, determination and and passion in the hobby that interests all of us! KZbin is not his main gig or his bread and butter. KZbin is a a hobby like cars are to the rest of us…. When time allows! In his intro he says it all, “Vintage American muscle is life”! Editing is probably pretty far down on the list🤣
