This is so relaxing to watch. 😂 Bringing back memories of watching my granny make this. I make it for my brother every blue moon, it was always his favorite. 💜💜

If you were to roll the Potato candy between 2 sheets of wax paper there will be no sticking and roll better. After you have rolled out remove the top sheet of wax paper spread the peanut butter, then lift the edge of the bottom sheet and pull over the top and the candy will roll perfectly off the sheet.

We've made this for years. We do the pinwheels with peanut butter. You can also put some coconut in it and dip in chocolate for a mounds bar flavor.

Yes , the coconut. My recipe for potato candy adds a half package of coconut, and uses almond extract instead of the vanilla. 😊

My Mom would make this recipe at Easter time.. without the PB roll into small "egg" shapes, let it sit on a cooling rack, to dry it out , somewhat.. then dip into melted choclate with 2 forks. back onto the cooling racks to harden.. Decorated them with basic butter cream icing.. She would try PB mixed w/ 4X sugar but never got a consistantcy she liked to roll PB then cpver w. the sheet of potatoe mixture..then dip.. Us kids enjyed the ""mistakes""!! Also within our family was called Irish Potatoe Candy... being we were Irish..was a ::poor man's"" candy treat It is interesting how good this DOES tatse!! Again, Sara brigs memories flooding back with this recipe!!

Dirty clothes are not good . I’m not being mean but if she’s cooking then cleanliness is everything. Miss your old videos 💕
@allysonashley85962 жыл бұрын
I get messy cooking all the time! No telling how much cooking she did before… she is sharing a recipe not asking for opinions on her clothing or cleanliness. Sad, somethings are just better kept to yourself. Why do people think it’s okay to say whatever crosses their mind to people? Thank you Sara. I enjoy your videos… new and old…
@gj97362 жыл бұрын
@@allysonashley8596 when you put yourself out there on KZbin doing a video in your kitchen, you open yourself up to comments and criticisms, so you ought to look presentable by wearing clean clothes while baking and cooking in your video! The same thing goes for your kitchen that you are working out of, a dirty kitchen would be a turnoff for many people as well! When I turned this channel on to watch, guess what jumped into my face first thing? A soiled dress! 🥴 This is NOT ment to be a mean comment, but looking at Sarah wearing a not so clean outfit as she is baking is NOT appealing to me and is a visually turn-off, sorry if that offends you but that’s the way it is! If you are at home in your own kitchen cooking or baking and your outfit gets messed up, then yes who cares, but the same doesn’t go for being on KZbin in a video doing the same thing and looking sloppy!
@allysonashley85962 жыл бұрын
@@gj9736 you didn’t offend me. I just think if you can’t say something nice keep it to yourself or just don’t watch it. It seems to easy for people to be critical of strangers while hiding behind a phone or computer. The bigger picture is who cares! She is sharing her cooking recipes…. Focus on that, if it’s not appetizing because her dress is dirty then watch it. Why people feel the need to be critical of someone just because they can is beyond me. That’s the issue with todays social media.
@gj97362 жыл бұрын
@@allysonashley8596 To make it clear, I am not fan of hers and never will be, KZbin suggested her video as possible interest to me and believe me I won’t be watching her anymore! Since you are fine with this women looking like she does in her video baking, more power to you! The cooking channels that I am subscribed to and watch on a regular basis, none of the women appearing in front of camera are in soiled outfits because it would be a turnoff and unappealing and they know it! I really don’t think that Sarah cares much about her appearance which is her absolute right, but putting herself out there on social media, she could try just a little bit to look presentable while baking. And since you brought up the so called issue with social media these days, I am of the older generation and believe in telling the truths which by the way goes a long way. You can whitewash it by saying “who cares” if you want to, but by doing so you yourself are not being honest and there are many others who would disagree with you besides myself!!!

cant you add flour on that padding so you can roll that dough easier?
@margaretthomas83182 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't use flour because it will affect the taste. I would use powdered sugar. Mine are easier to roll up with the peanut butter because my house is probably cooler and my mix is less sticky. And I normally only use about 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes because it still takes a lot of powered sugar. It's pretty amazing how the potatoes just melt that sugar for quite a bit. I was just thinking about making some and adding cocoa so we could have some chocolate ones with peanut butter. I like to experiment.
