@skwerly girly You use bone broth for flavor and nutrients. Some people do eat the bone after it's cooked for long periods. Chef June Xie from Delish loves eating bone after it becomes soft but crunchy after a second bake in the oven. Bake the bones first, then boil with your stew broth, remove, bake and eat. It may have been in her August 1, 2020 episode.

Sorry to see it didn't work out :( the surface looked very rubbery, not at all crispy, and you can see how the meat ruptured underneath it very noticeably and basically ballooned out. The fruit looked dried out and burnt rather than caramelized, and overall the meat was probably very dry despite sitting in that bath of liquid (most of which would have been the meat's juices just draining into the pan and wasted). Here are a few tips: let the ham come to room temperature before putting it into the oven, to ensure it cooks evenly; don't put it in at a high temp, as bone-in meat is a low and slow cook (this was probably your single biggest mistake, leading to the moisture loss and rupturing); and don't put the glaze on straight from the beginning. The glaze is something you build-up, not just dump on and forget about. Do some research and consider taking some cooking classes, and it you'll avoid wasting money on expensive meats like this one and the Christmas prime rib.
