What a great song and what a true song… this should’ve been a big hit on the radio. I don’t know why it wasn’t.

this song not only got me through emotional heartache many years ago but also OPENED MY EYES to a great many things. The beauty is..it's STILL RELEVENT! advice like these lyrics don't dissipate with trends or fashion! 2000 years ago people experienced the same shit! All young men & women in their 20's should listen to it's lyrics...i mean REALLY LISTEN! it will save them allot of wasted time! its not a typical "break up" song it's more...it's "wisdom in a note!" THANK YOU FOR WRITNG THIS SONG!

Junkyard had so much talent, truly good players, and better writing than most bands at the time. Great stuff! Good bluesy bar rock will always stand the test of time.

saw them open for Skynyrd in Kansas City in 91 at Sandstone. They gave out free cassette single of this song..when you entered the venue.

Loved this album then, still lovin' it now! My ever-lasting Junkyard memory though is from the Mason Jar in Phoenix, watching the lead singer seemingly more intimidated by the fans than the fans were of him. Just humble, grateful dudes!

Still, 1989 was very late in the trend. Junkyard is, in my opinion, one of the best hardrock bands of all time. The first two albums had such quality music and production that I'm afraid they were just a little late to enjoy the party.

I absolutely agree too late.,but a little early for next wave..

This song was on PERMANENT ROTATION in my truck circa 1997 an helped me through allota heartache. If young people listened/heeded the lyrical wisdom within it'd spare em allota the same. My thanks to David N' The Boys for writing it 👍🤘

Ha! That's right! I got the cassette single when Junkyard opened for Skynyrd, too. Great song. I did like the debut LP a little bit better, but the second one still rocked and was a little bit more polished.

@faithycoins No way. Guns was rawer, edgier, even sociopathic, with that just climbed out of the gutter feel. Guns were hardcore. This is rockabilly.

Guns N' Roses were a good band, who recorded 2 good albuns (Appetite and UYI I&II) in the same era of Junkyard, but they are soo soo soo overated. Nothing like our marketing masters to tell us what's good, bad or legendary. Guess Junkyard, XYZ, Cinderella, and many others didn't had an hand of the marketing masters...

If the 1st Junkyard album came out in 1985 instead of 1989 towards the end of hair metal we'd be talking about them like GNR. Sucks, because if you listen to the music they are way better then most of the crap that came out of the 80's!!
