That Super C reminds me of when I got to help a buddy get his grandpa's 1947 Ford 8N tractor running again for said grandpa's 100th birthday. The look on his face when it came rolling up the driveway was incredible, and I was the one who actually drove it, because unlike my buddy, I actually know how to drive stick. Honestly, the hardest part of the whole revival was getting the old engine to turn over, she was locked up pretty tight, but we got there in the end, and when the old hunk of iron popped off and ran, we hugged each other tight, laugh-crying in celebration. Once we got her running, everything seemed to fly by, until the day finally came, when once the celebration was basically over, my buddy told everyone that he had 1 more surprise for them, because neither of us had told anyone, not even our closest friends. And not long after they all got out onto the front porch, I rolled up, and when he saw his old girl driving up, he hugged my buddy as tight as he could, and literally started crying tears of joy into their shoulder, and seeing that made all the pain and struggles worth it, I'm actually getting emotional all over again just typing this. Of course, we had to help grandpa up into the seat, but even after all those decades, he still knew how to drive his old girl just as well as, maybe even better than me, and seeing the joy on his face was incredibly contagious, and we were all smiling from ear to ear. That was an absolutely wonderful day, and I hope I never forget it

I'd say the 1970s but the result is the same. Cars from that decade have a carb, are old enough to be very cheap, were durable enough to still be with us, and every make had land yachts. In my opinion, it is the sweet spot for many reasons: few to no emissions controls, disc brakes, big engines, manual and automatic transmissions in almost everything, beefy rear diffs, air conditioning offered so retrofitting is easier, etc.
