When I left El Paso in the mid 70's to work in Houston I sure missed the tortillas my grandma made. So like you said practice. Back then there was no internet so my tortillas came out rock hard. So I called my Aunt's for instructions. I even make sopapillas with the same recipe. Just cut the tortilla in half and place in cooking oil let them puff up and voila. Cover with cinnamon and sugar or honey. Julia Childs eat your heart out. Can't wait for Elephant Butte Lake to open up to fish and camp out.

You do a great job of coming up with slants on subjects that others have overlooked. Like making tortillas in camp... If you take the time and s bit of effort, you can use a pieces of tortilla just like a spoon. The thumb and index finger with the middle finger method holding the piece of tortilla just right. And what can beat a great burrito? Keep up the good work. You provide practical useful info that anybody can use. And not cost an arm and leg. Or even in a real emergency. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏 be safe.

It works with a lot of foods. The pro's call it triggering or thresholding. Try a dash of cayanne pepper in milk, freshest tasting milk you ever sipped. Soups, stews, whatever. The idea is not to add hot, but to trigger the taste buds. Cayanne works great on cuts too. Helps clotting and kills bacteria. Works in the kitchen and the first aid.

Hey James when you're at the house easiest way to make perfect tortillasis to roll the dough out on a large cutting board and use a pie pan or top of a gallon ice cream pail to make perfect circles. Just rewad the dough up rinse and repeat. When I'm out in the field I like to use the pre-made mix. Otherwise I just carry a small bottle of oil instead of butter or lard. I'm sure you could also use gee, but I haven't tried that myself. Anyway love the video keep it up
