A hoe is a type of Garden tool used to prepare soil, or dirt. You see Jun use one near the end of the video. I don't know if it's the proper term, but when I was growing up, my mother always called preparing soil with a hoe "hoeing the ground". I hope that helps, and your English is pretty good. :)

lmao I didn't make this connection. I just assumed it's a type of worm (aka sandworm). But to my understanding the difference between the three is Sand is more dry akin to deserts Earth (animal)/soil (plant) is natural or nutrient-rich Dirt is unwanted like in your boots or floor So that's why earth is used :)

I don't know how big animal rescues are in Japan, but here, i exchange the trimmings of my vegetables with the local rabbit rescue for their waste, aka bunny poop, and use it in the garden to start all over. No better fertilizer, except maybe goat poop.

You can EAT those flowers! Any brassica like broccoli, cabbage, romanesco... Try them raw in a salad of stir fry them! They're so pretty and slightly sweet from the flower nectar.

those little cabbages did their best for you. Last year's garden began the song of 'garden' in that plot. Each year's garden will carry that song further. I'm glad the cabbages tasted good - i'm having cabbages and carrots for my food today. I am working out how to prep soup ingredients separately so that i can have them ready to assemble for each meal. We'll see how that works for me. Composting is such a beautiful process, especially when you compost growth from your own garden back into it. I do open air composting at home, a lot of it is leaves as we have several pecan trees and two huge white poplar trees that make a ton of leaves but we also compost food waste and recently I've started composting cardboard, I've not tried the method Jun uses here, it looks really effective!

Omg, that looks beautiful! Great looking cabbages! Pickling any? If you let the flowers go to seed and feed the insects, you get lots of seeds! You can compost pretty good just with organic matter, water, capped with soil, keeping it moist. You could also just use the leaves as mulch. Keep it thick enough and it will break down, add nutrients, at the same time being a mulch for your garden. For invasive weeds, bury them deeply or rot them, to disable their invasiveness.

Maybe microbes or enzymes for the compost heap in the bag? We call those earth worms in the southeast USA. Regarding the compost, it is important that air is introduced to the compost heap so the aerobic bacteria can break down the plant parts. You can also add egg shells for calcium if your area is deficient and they will also slowly break down. If you do not introduce air, anaerobic bacteria will thrive and the vegetable matter will rot. It's not a huge deal, just try to turn the soil every time you visit to get air in and keep the heap healthy. (Apologies if you already knew. I'm a horticulturist and I spend a lot of time teaching people how to garden).
