as cool as fusion rando is the fact that you never get to listen to the main deck's actual theme frustrates me beyond belief

Personally, while I do enjoy the atmospheric music to start, I'd love for Main Deck to switch to the actual theme after going down the main elevator. Hopefully in a future update!

@@JupiterClimb If it's at all possible I'd love for it to be tied to using the Data Room, so Missile starts don't just have mechanical sounds accompanying the early checks. Plus the way the song kicked in when you broke into the vents was just so cool in vanilla. But if that's not feasible then yeah, going down the main elevator would be fine for most starts that don't stay in the Main Deck for very long in the beginning.

I agree but not sure if either would be possible, it's my understanding that the rando entirely destroys the event sequencing of the game. In any case though there's always the option to just set the music for main deck's rooms lol

I am a little bummed there's no special effect if you have diffusion missiles without ice missiles. I know in the normal game you always get them once you already have ice missiles, but the randomizer dev was able to split the effects of the beams and suits into separate things. (Ice Beam without the wide, wave, and plasma beams for instance) So a "diffusion missile" that's just a big wide blast radius of spinning explosions should have been a thing.

The beams work like in super Metroid they are coded independently but are used together and have their own combinations

Regarding your go-mode thing. In the randomizer I use, neither suit upgrade is needed. (I've always gotten Varia, but never Gravity)

How do you get to lower sector 4 without gravity?

Gravity is enough to beat both ice water and heat sector. Though varia doubles protection.

With a ton of work by the ROMhack dev team, it isn't anymore. Technically the Omega Suit and the Ice Beam were one in the same in the code, where getting Ice Beam would set the suit to the Omega Suit, and vice versa. So the devs took out the Omega Suit and then made Ice Beam a separate upgrade, lore notwithstanding. The real challenge was making it work without Charge, Wide, Plasma, and Wave effects.

Fanon lore: The metroid vaccine accidently had antifreeze in it, it did not change the fact that she can enter the subzero areas without the varia suit, but it only changed one thing, Ice Beam is back.

The Fusion randomizer has 5 difficulty settings. This is the middle one. Basically, some of the wilder stuff like Charge Beam at Ridley is only possible at Difficulty 5.

What randomizer do you use? I've been using the Zero Fusion Open Randomizer and it's fun, but I miss some tech from other games.

The most recent version of the randomizer is only available on the Metroid Fusion Discord, which I'd definitely recommend.
