Jurassic Park and The Lost World Deluxe DVD Box Set Review

Released in 2000, this DVD box set is crammed with bonus goodies. Definitely worth buying for any Jurassic Park fan as a christmas present. $23.99 from Amazon.

Wow, what a wonderful box set. I bought all three foil DVDs back in December 2001 when the Jurassic Park 3 DVD was released. I was only 19. We bought our first DVD player just for the JP3 release. The very next DVD we bought was the ALIEN Quadrilogy box set. DVD started off with a bang for me. Great movies.

In 2001 i bought the DVD's that are in this box set but the stand alone versions. When i got the first Blu-Ray box set of the first three films i gave my dvd copies of JP1-3 to a family member. This is a cool box set. I remember when this came out.

@JTMHollywood Haha yeah I had the same reaction when I found out about this set. It was a US release only, but it is now dirt cheap so grab it while you can! And thanks, I intend to do more Jurassic Park reviews in the future :D

@bravotwoniner Jurassic Park 4 is being shot with no story to begin with as well. Jurassic Park's script was based off the book. How is Joe gonna be able to whip a nice film up without Steven, Michael, and the writers from the first two?

I bought that set when it came out, brand-spanking new for $99. Everything still in plastic. It's right next to my Laserdisk of JP.

Can't wait for the Blurays, I full cast commentary would be awesome and a separate Directors but to my knowledge Spielberg has never done a commentary for any of his films. :(

I already own this version but i just managed to pick up the french release of this on eBay which comes with two different stenotypes (everything else the same as far as i can tell) One of the end scene of the lost world with the two rex's and the other of the brachiosaurs in the lake from the first film. Never saw the french version before so think it's pretty rare!

Could be my imagination playing with me, but I vaguely remember Universal making an infomercial promoting this particular dvd box set shortly before JP3 was released in theatres. I’ve been trying to find it all over the internet for YEARS, but to no avail. Does anyone remember???

I read somwehere that the some UK version box set came with a version of The Lost World on DVD that had deleted scenes not found on any other release… Anyone know if there is there any truth to that? I really, REALLY want to see those other scenes lol but haven't been able to locate this special UK edition box set.

@platt131 I purchased the Jurassic Park : Redemption series, which has just ended - is that the comics you are talking about? There's also the new five parter coming out in January. I have to admit the IDW comics aren't as good at the Topps series. Story was nowhere near as good. And they killed off Wu!!

@bravotwoniner Even if Steven had control, it still would have been shit. There is no story to go off on. Jurassic Park 3 was just an idea to see if Jurassic Park still has life in it. He tried his best, but he failed. It's not like he WANTED to kill Jurassic Park, he just wanted to see how it feels to be like Steven for a day.
