Astronopolis No. The shots when the dinos are CG are PURE CG. They didn't use an animatronic dinosaur and then clean it up with CG. He is talking about how the CG dinosaurs looked so real. Having practical effects in a different shot would not improve the appearance of CG shots.
@SalvableRuin9 жыл бұрын
Oldschoolfbb It doesn't. You are one of those people who can't tell which scenes are CG and which are not. You probably think it is an animatronic T-Rex that breaks through the fence. Newsflash: It isn't. And nobody can say shots like that look "dated" by today's standards. It still looks real.

I thought it was perfect, saying its good is an understatement, I cried when I heard the original theme, I laughed and cheered along with everyone else when a certain old dinosaur appeared, the movies to me are less about a warning about man playing God and more about a warning to Greed being the destroyer SPOILER ALERT I just don't understand why they can only have a theme park with only herbivore dinosaurs, yeah I know, Theropods like T Rex is what draws everyone in, but still I think the message from the film is true, how (SPOILER ALERT) Claire said they needed new "exciting" attraction s like the I Rex to keep people interested like the space program, how the child in that universe will look at an Apatosaurus the same way they would an elephant at their local zoo, so they needed the genetic engineering to up the "wow factor" and how Owen says "they're dinosaurs, wow enough" its speaks to the social commentary that we take modern day animals for granted and how we treat them as commodities, even if they are clones and as Vic Hoskins says "clones have no rights" as Spielberg told Treverrow to make a movie about our relationship with animals today and I feel sorry for the I Rex, to her as a neglected animal

I had this idea that Jeff Goldblum would be watching the events unfold on TV and he'd be like "Why don't they ever learn?" or something like that and that would be it. That's all that was needed.

the funny thing about this movie is it reminded me of predator and godzilla (2014) Preadator because of the I-rex and how it camofauges, sees thermal vision and how it hunts for sport just like a predator, plus when its chasing the 2 kids and they had to jump in the lagoon reminded me of how arnie jumped into a river right next to the waterfall. Godzilla because of how it was formated. Villan monster (V-rex and mutos) breaks out. You guys are totally right about the practical effects being such an important part of Jurassic Park that a lot of film makers seem to forget about now a days, which you guys constantly insist about in other movies as well. When will the film industry remember that nothing gets realer than a physical effect, I fill my house full of that stuff for these types of effects because it just gives a better result for not just the viewer, but for other filmers. I love that feeling when I see an awesome real effect and I want to figure it out, such as putting a styrofoam props in acetone to watch it melt, it make the world of cinema so much more accessible.

Jeff Goldblum's hand enters the scene as he picks up the newspaper and lets out a deep, exasperated sigh. Then cut to a front shot of Jeff in a chair as he forcefully tosses the paper back down to the table, he then looks up to the camera shaking his head and says "Nope!" Cut to black. Sounds like they just tried to recreate the great scenes from the original because "that worked before" instead of thinking up their own story to tell. Too much fan service for those of us that saw the original in the theater and to use the same old tricks that possibly younger kids have never seen.

I remember watching Jurassic Park when it came out in the cinema and being amazed, looking back on it it is a pretty amazing "family monster horror movie" it has the scares but also the simple storyline. Watching it back as an adult, James is right that the animatronics of the film have aged really well, I think an over reliance of CGI when its not needed is the bane of modern cinema, there's something more real , special or magical about animatronics that just gives it that extra edge when used properly.

Funny thing is, a copy of Malcolm's "God Creates Dinosaurs" was laying somewhere in the control room. I think it belonged to the guy with the Jurassic Park T-shirt. Which is rather adequate.

I love the Camden aquarium and its big walkthrough tunnel! (The Virginia Aquarium has one, too.) I mean, I wish it were in another city, but it's awesome. Especially when the sawfish lie across the arch. xD And I went snorkeling with their sharks and stingrays once--unforgettable experience. ^^

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are young and hot, the wrong choices for a Jurassic Park film. Nothing gritty or real about either... too plastic, as far as actors go.

The CG in 1993's Jurassic Park is so impressive, viewers now still debate which parts are animatronics and which are computer graphics. The visual effects artists did an incredible job.

Ugh, James has really got to take of those nostalgic glasses. The Lost World was every bit as bad as everyone says it was. The third movie at least had a few likable characters to me, but in the Lost World everyone is an asshole...from the PETA like "heroes" to the goofy villains.

It is the same T rex, nicknamed "Rexy", you can tell because in promo pictures the T rex still has scratch marks on its side because of its fight with the raptors in the climax of jurassic park. Also on the website it says that the T rex has been at jurassic world since its beginning. Tyrannosaurus lived about 30 (ish) years so it still makes sense.

One thing that kind of got to me was that Henry Wu used amphibian DNA to patch the dino DNA in the original, which allowed the dinosaurs to breed even though they were born female. In this movie HE DID IT AGAIN!!!! He used tree frog DNA so the dinosaurs could live in a tropical environment, which meant they were cold blooded, thus able to match their surrounding heat signatures making them invisible to the sensors used to keep track of them. This decision led to the guard going into the paddock with Chris Pratt, where the Indominus rex was still hiding when they couldn't see it with the sensors, which allowed the rex to get out as they tried to escape the paddock after getting word that it was in there with them. Dang it, Henry, this is why you died in the book!

You lost me at "great." It was a complete disaster from beginning to end. Basically everything that could go wrong did, from the lifeless, paper-thin characters to the extremely monotonous action sequences, it's easily one of the worst films of the year thus far.

One thing they also mentioned was that the Dinos DNA gaps were filled with other creatures. Thus the Dinosaurs would look slightly different than what they would really look like in BC. This addresses the lack of feathers.
@hermaeusmora29459 жыл бұрын
I don't have high hopes for the movie, even with the review, because it's PG-13. The premise is that a dinosaur is loose in the park but because it's PG-13 we'll get dead adults and that's it. If this was real live there would be dead women and kids everywhere. We've already had 3 movies with the "adults with guns die, innocent kids live" horseshit, i'll pass on a 4th; i wanna see some dead kids.

About James' comment of this Tyrannosaurus Rex possibly being the same one from the previous movies: The T-Rex from the Jurassic World and the original Jurassic Park are the same T-Rex. This was confirmed on some of the advertising for the movie. However, that T-Rex isn't the same one that terrorizes San Diego in The Lost World. The JP/JW rex is a female residing in Isla Nublar whereas the one in TLW lives in Isla Sorna and is the male parent of the baby T-Rex in that movie. Also, (this is just speculation) many believe that the rex that's killed in the fight against the Spinosauris in JP3 is one of the two parents from TLW.

@Howler4529 жыл бұрын
It is the same T-Rex. On the website for the movie (which was a website that was sort of like if the park was real, with information and stuff like that) and they talk about the different dinosaurs, and one of them is the T-Rex. It's described as being very old, and if you look at the model, the T-Rex has scars all over it's body, and those are from the same wounds the raptors caused to the T-Rex at the end of the first movie.
