I mean they wouldn’t make a lot more money even if they hire Klopp. It’s not like people will pay many times the amount of money for Gold Cup tickets next year just hire Klopp as the coach. They won’t be making any major amount of money until 26 wc. They’ll make a lot of money from the World Cup no matter who is the coach. A huge salary hire like Klopp is solely a money losing move.

@@mathewheffley121 There were un-sold seats in KC for the game against Uruguay. Bring in Klopp and there's a good chance a lot of those get sold. Even games with the B or C teams would get more attention and higher attendance. The women's team gets a portion of whatever prize money the men get from the WC. Whatever money is spent to get Klopp, or another big name, wouldn't get taken from that since a certain amount of the prize money goes straight to the players. And getting just one game farther can mean a lot more money. Also the women have to know that even if they wanted to start complaining about spending a lot for a MNT coach it would be a PR disaster for them. I have no idea if Klopp in particular is interested or not, but it's funny that people are convinced no big coach would take the job. If the money is there they certainly will. Why wouldn't they? It's a unique opportunity to coach a huge and rich country where soccer is growing in popularity at a home world cup which will be the largest, highest attended, and most financially successful world cup in history. There's a good group of players who aren't world beaters but who have the possibility to make a decent run in the tournament. A strong showing could propel the coach to recognition in the US for years to come. It would be a feather in any coach's cap, even if just from a financial point of view. The thing is USSF doesn't really want to do it. They don't want to wrangle up the money and they don't really want a foreign coach.

Guardiola and Klopp?! These guys are delusional! I'm American, but there is no way coaches of that caliber in their prime will ever take on any national team, let alone USMNT. They need to look at countries like Japan, Croatia, Senegal, Turkey, etc. that typically do well to get out of groups and into quarters, or on rare occasions, semis of international tournaments. And then see what they do in terms of coaching recruitment. You have to learn to walk before you can run! And the biggest elephant in the room - why is grassroots football so horribly over-priced and low quality in this country? The biggest stars all over the world have come from the favelas, barrios, shantys, slums, etc. There is a reason why 'street football' is the best place for kids to learn the beautiful game and hone their craft. The 'club' football scene in this country is just a money-grab operation run by a bunch of grifters. The coaching, the philosophy, everything about it is second-rate. It's astonishing that despite having such a large amount of youth playing football in this country that the talent isn't coming to the surface. The biggest reason is sub-par coaching that emphasizes physicality over actual technical skills and intelligence. Some of the best players, throughout the history of the game, are not physically dominant specimens - Garrincha, Maradona, Messi, Makalele, Kante, Greizmann, Xavi, Iniesta, Modric, the list goes on!

For me, it's time to go all out, the US needs to capitalize on this sutuation. This can make up for the 1932 debacle when the 3rd place 1930 US World Cup team could not put the sport on the US map when the sport was removed from the 1932 LA Olympic Games. If US Soccer wants to take this sport to another level they MUST succeed in the next WC here in the US in 2026. We need a great coach that fits the chemisty of the team, and that has already coached our two best players, a coach that thinks outside the box. That coach is Jurgen Klopp (he has coached both Pulesic and Gio Reyna at Borussia Dortmund). Come on US Soccer lets get the best man for the job and happens to be available...like NOW!!!

Yes they tried to suppress Keller speaking the truth. In USWNT case where they lost because they claimed they generate more money than the men, since equal pay was implemented the women have earned more money in the last 3 years than the last 15 years because they are now being subsidised by the profits of the men’s game. So the men’s team can no longer afford top coaches and to rehire GB.

@@gabrielgonzalez6456 Correct, the contract does not prevent the men's side from paying a ton of money for a coach. It doesn't mean that the women's coach has to be paid the same. Many coaches wanted the USMNT job because it is marquee because its the biggest country in the world. And if he does the bare basic he will be praised and doesnt have to worry about being fired or huge backlash or hate. It makes sense Klopp goes to England and underperforms people are saying fire him or hes awful and gets death threats and etc. USMNT job is likely one of the best jobs off that alone. You have no pressure youre in CONCACF its an easy win to least make finals. You might occasionally go to Copa America tbh even with Greg coaching they wouldve advanced if not for Weah red card. So I disagree with people USMNT is a marquee job you get to relax no hate or threats no ones saying fire you. And you have a decent talent pool of players that will potentially be growing.
