Why didn't they just keep him there. All the money spent on the trial, the lawyers, given a sentence just to be let out a day or two later. This is the epitome of injustice. Living in this day and age is a nightmare.

Because he is a privileged boy with friends in high places. BTW the "I am not suicidal" shout was only the prelude to the next hoax. He went on a hunger strike until he got his way. But it is alright, street justice is always stronger that friends in high places. The public will always have the last word and career wise, he is a dead man walking. His family is a bunch of crooks too, and they will all go down together. I can't see any succeeding in public life

What a joke. Video shows a wealthy, privileged, bad actor wasting taxpayer's dollars. A man who would've willingly put an innocent man in jail if it meant he could further enrich his life, career, and social standing. One who has been proven to be a liar, yet continues to get special treatment. Anybody else would still be locked up, and be having to truly deal with the consequences of their bad choices and actions. Sh*tcago "justice" is abhorrent!

If he had acted like a grown up and finished his sentence, we would no longer have heard about him after he was released from jail. But because of his appeal he will probably be around in the news for some time to come yet.

He got off completely free. His fine doesn't have to actually be paid for a long time and someone else will pay it. He is allowed to travel anywhere he wants as long as he makes a phone call to his probation officer. And it will literally take 6 years for his appeals to run out. He basically got no punishment other than a few days with special treatment.
@mackcarlo Жыл бұрын
He got let off because the justice system and the man upstairs knows that he is such a cowardly Soul that he couldn’t handle the full extent of the Law. His punishment is basically the full blown public humiliation.

I am so confused about a lot of these comments here, this is how they treat everyone, at least from my experience. Well, he got a better, bigger and brighter cell, but everything else is good. Better here then southern Illinois, those guys hate people from Chicago :(

ya got that right partner 🤠 ?? What are you talking about? I lived in Chicago up until about 5 years ago. I moved to Southern IL and no has said anything to me with the exception of the apparent fact I have an accent and I am not locked up.. 😅

He is waiting for his appeal to get a second chance in court (which could actually take two years). If it is rejected it's right back to jail where he will finish his sentence (69 days, because in Chicago is one of those places where people only do half of their sentence unless they cause trouble during sentencing).

A majority of the Court of Appeals thought that Jussie would probably win his appeal (they'll be hearing it) and they thought that it would be unfair for him to have already have served his sentence, so they set him free. It's only fair.
