The problem with cutting into a warm bread loaf is that you ruin the rest of the loaf that you don't eat. The steam escapes and the bread goes stale even faster than what it usually would. But, I get it. It's hard (understatement) to not try the bread while its still warm.

Yeah she made the right call to try it hot out of the oven. If the bread is going to last for a few days then yeah by all means let it cool. If the intention is to eat the loaf at one or two sittings then you have to have a hot slice right out of the oven before all the volatiles evaporate off. It's a bit like popcorn, it's amazing for the first 20-30 minutes but the next day it's just mediocre and warming it up does nothing to bring back that fresh out of the oven flavor.

@@ketokarbs3671 So, make normal bread?
@grimmquinn20032 жыл бұрын
@@Verlopil well actually, the carbonation does add a bit more gas to the bread, it will be slightly fluffier. But at the same time, the yeast, although active, is still reacting with the sugars in the soda. So it balances it out to be like sandwich bread. Most store bought breads have about 28 grams of sugar (which is a lot) and this one has about 39 grams. So an 11 gram difference without the carbonation would just be a sweet dense bread. Its basically just a cheat to make fancier less healthier store bought bread. But bread is bread. Nothing to get upset about lol.

I'm impressed! I woulda never thought that Coke alone would've worked as a leavener. And I'm super impressed with the six-strand braid. I've only ever done three, so I'll be trying this sometime this year!

You said that you didn't give a good description of the 6-strand braid, but it made sense with the visual. I would say it was a good description as long as someone isn't just listening.

Outstanding on the bread braiding!! If you had a moustache and beard made of bread, you could go by, “Beard Mama” like “Beard Papa” 😊

Hello Emmy. I was wondering if other sodas can be used? I think mountain dew or orange soda would be great.

I don't see why not. If you give it a go, please report back with your findings. 😊

I've seen a recipe for this bread using jusy self-raisimg flour and soda. Could you try that one, please Emmy? I am so curious to know if it would work. The recipe that I read said that Gingerale worked best.

I 'fight' with bread making on and off all the time, so great to see yours came out so well. Especially with the mystery ingredient LOL It looks amazing and you're making me want to go and make some bread right now. (It's late here so i won't... but i want to )

I love to watch you try new things. The braid looked challenging, but you nailed it.

Root Beer Float cake is delicious. Root beer with a box cake mix ( Betty Crocker Butter Cake is preferred)and mix root beer with Dream Whip powder topping mix for the frosting. I use both packs of Dream Whip when I make it.
