Summary: Another disappointment am afraid, poor graphics, poor story/plot, terrible missions, bland world and bugs are not what you expect from a £45 game! It's a huge missed opportunity with the map zones, why they did not expand on this with some basic strategy is beyond me, instead they opted for a ridiculous system of doing 1 mission in each zone then get the chaos meter up to capture it, how boring. They could have created a game of power where you have to fight for each zone and equip your army to hold it with the enemy able to counter and take land back, that would have been so much better. The game does offer large helpings of fun as a sandbox physics game but not for the price of £45, especially in a bland empty world like this one, such a shame really, so unless you want to spend all that money attaching balloons to people, wait for a sale.

Missing point of a game that's also meant for those far younger than you or I. If you try a console port would trying a joypad sometimeebe so hard? Rather than the foot stomping that gets your bottom lip wobbling for rest of review? Sounded like the irritating kid screaming in the toy shop for a light sabre after being told they've sold out. Dev cycles ramping up, bigger minimum dev/marketing budgets cutting out mid sized games and new ips, micro transactions that are popping up everywhere that are destroying the player's relationship to developer's. EA shutting down studios, while dev teams like Telltale belly up. Fewer triple A titles overall (seriously think of your favorite series/dev team and count the number of games released by them compared to how many were released on the previous two gens. If it's gone up you are a lucky duck). I smell a crash on the horizon. Edit: There will be survivors no doubt. EA/Take Two/Square Enix/Ubisoft/Activision will ride the storm with ease because they are bullet proof. Other companies and many dev teams, not so much. The Indie scene is going to start growing a bunch when that happens

I also love this game series but I find it's definitely better to play it in smaller chunks rather than long stretches. It's the long stretches where the repetition is more noticeable. Just do a couple of missions/bases/hours or whatever a day, maybe as a wind down or something and it works so much better. Then again, I can never quite wrap my head around those who play games constantly and complete them in a matter of days. I like to take my time but each to their own JC 4 is designed for pure fun, it's not meant to be about the plot etc. That's just there to cater to those who always moan about lack of story.

I got Just Cause 2 for free I tried to play it kept crashing played like one mission and never picked it up again. I don't think they are years old, I think it's a bug with the level of detail. Distant views look great, fantastic even but it's almost like once you get close enough to something it isn't loading that last set of textures. It's still using the medium distance textures or whatever. It's possibly the same thing with the water, as again some areas look okay but then others are completely flat and lifeless.

Do a revisit. Just Cause 4 has got a HUGE patch including new anti-aliasing and really good water. The water now makes waves when you drive with boats over it. The difference is HUGE. Bottom line, do a revisit of the game as many problems have been fixed/patched.

On the other hand, if you want better exploration and more sandbox gameplay + better world (essentially overall better core gameplay), get JC4. I personally prefer JC4 over JC3 but that's my take on it.

I'm done with AAA games. Last one I bought full price was Fallout 4 at release. Since then I've been playing Factorio, -Rimjob- Rimworld and other games that are actually made with a passion. Map conquest should be that you need to destroy chaos objects and do some REVELANT quests to conquer bases, then you need to destroy all those bases to move the frontline, and you would need to kill the black hand and help your allies in the frontline to fully conquer that zone and advance the squads again.

I have a computer so I can buy subnautica on that but I am wondering if it is worth getting for PS4 because I game console on a 100 inch projector for first person and other games. The one who designed the menus deserves a visit by Rico. Use WASD to highlight the correct menu, then you have to click, not space, not enter CLICK THE MOUSE. And if you're stuck trying to select it, the mouse also needs to hover OVER THE ALREADY HIGHLIGHTED MENU. And don't get me started on using 1 for the map, and then having to press another number to actually get into a menu.

I posted a comment earlier criticizing the way Mack reacted to the negative backlash received from the Far Cry New Dawn review. After spending some time thinking about his current situation, I believe that the personality Mack brought to his channel was just that - a personality. It was not his own. And I've personally dealt with mad anxiety over such stupid little things, imagine a person dealing with waves of negativity after negativity. I have no idea who Mack is behind the screen, but it's pretty evident his health is worsening after that video. I know we as fans have our own opinions, and shall continue to have our opinions, but for the sake of his health, I for one wish him to take time off and get better. I don't mean this as a knock on Mack but maybe he'll be able to be open minded and accept all sorts of criticisms, as it should be. Again, this is my take on the entire thing. For all I know, he might just be sour from the hate and is taking a break, but I'd rather we stop hating and hope he comes to the realization on his own.

too many lame games, developer's have lack of empathy towards consumers. "Don't like it, don't buy it " attitude. Shitting out a game every year unpublished, rushed, buged. Call of duty, need for speed, assassins creed, fallout, and now battlefield which everyone had hopes for. All they want is $$$ without any effort. I think we could all agree that Rockstar is the only one left who is dedicated for gamers and their games . I dont understand why Other developers can't learn from rockstar.

Years since this video dropped lol.. Just Cause 4 is free with PS+ now. I am enjoying the hell out of it, but I am glad I didn't pay for it and I doubt I will finish the game. Its just awful in every category but Gameplay... which makes up for shortfalls significantly. I like that its obviously a video game. Nothing is trying to be realistic, believable or logically sound. The characters don't need to be deep or unique. The AI doesn't need to be smart. Its just crazy mayhem with cool impossible gadgets and tactics. Its like Doom and Far Cry had a kid. Its a pure video game. There is no point, no story, no journey, no revelation or message. The stakes and risk are nearly nonexistant. The whole game exists to provide a venue for screwing around with the ridiculously fun gameplay.... I hope. If Square Enix genuinely though they turned out a creative narrative masterpiece with unique charachters and scenarios, I worry for their competence as developers. Its gotta be what it is on purpose. Its something I play when I just wanna chill and laugh. Its better than GTA in that regard cus its so over the top and impossible. It will make you feel like an overpowered unbeatable bad ass with almost no effort, and when you finaly get down the skills, its like an acrobatic mayhem ballet.
