Sometimes Mike’s takes sound very similar to conservative talking points. This is one of my favorite podcasts, but I always feel like Mike dominates conversations and is really insensitive to other marginalized groups at time. Mental illness shouldn’t constitute a ban on someone’s art, if cosplaying helps someone make sense of a really scary world why does he care, also not mention how he can be very condescending to the girls (even if it is a joke, it doesn’t read)

I don’t think Mike means harm but when referring to those who’ve taken their lives and his inability to appreciate their art I find it ignorant. I understand not wanting to delve into the inner workings of their mind because it can be a negative energy. But when it is paintings, poems and music and his dismissal of it while at the same time discussing the dark knight in which it stars Heath is ironic. Unfortunately mike not everyone is privileged enough to live in a reality where taking your life is “not having it all together”. A full life compared to one taken by suicide doesn’t mean they are incomplete humans just like many bad people leave this earth naturally and are terrible people. Why the strong lack empathy to those who struggle in a certain way. Maybe their short lived purpose was to create the art they did in their existence, and yet it’s invalid. It’s a shame.
