Yes, the 777 might be cool, but the AVRO RJ is the one I will get. Imagine all the small airports here in Europe you can blast in and out. Short flights of one hour or so, many take offs and landings. Not sitting in the chair for hours and watch the A/P doing his job. Flying the RJ all across the Continent, up and down and enjoying some real airwork makes the difference 😊

How does buying an addon there work in practice? Is it like a voucher or something that has a code that you can redeem online and get it added to your account when it's released?

Yes. Exactly that. You pay at the show then use the code on the site and the value of the transaction drops to zero. It's the mechanic we've used at events and shows for many years now. Works nicely. We think.

Depends how you choose to sim really. The big changes for the casual simmer will be the autothrottle, more general automation of systems, more modern avionics and better navigation capabilities. It being just flight though, all these systems will be excellently integrated and have a proper simulation to back them up. They also have excellent attention to detail too, so the littler things won’t be overlooked. For me, this is essentially a completely different aircraft.

Got to say how much I enjoy flying the 146 - still a challenge (for me) but it’s a great aircraft for the sim. The RJ is going to be a ‘must have’ to add to my Xbox fleet. Great work guys 👍

Not all that familiar with the aircraft but from this video it really looks like the cockpit sits right in that perfect sweet spot between too old and too modern. "on the cusp of glass cockpit" with the individual CRT gauges, somewhat akin to say a TBM 850 or PC-12. Loving what I see here even though I'm not a hard core airliner guy

The interpretation of the flight model is bad, you don’t feel at all that you are controlling a projectile weighing 25 tons, maximum 500 kg.

@@scottphillips9795 The behavior of an aircraft model under the influence of the air environment, control, and simply straight flight is far from perfect. Weight of 25 tons, flying at a speed of 300-500 km/h, cannot change its trajectory with the ease of a butterfly, not to mention instantly changing its position in space. Roughly speaking, in the model made for the simulator there is no such understanding as weight and inertia. I judge by the model I have, but only with analog instruments.

@ilya.kortev You don't have this model. It is not released. We'll be releasing in 6 to 8 weeks. The flight model code in flight simulator is far from perfect but it does a decent job and gives Devs a good basis to start with.

From what I've seen, you're essentially just implementing a modernized version of the airplane, with digital displays instead of analog ones, and the flight model will not be subject to significant changes. The Vulcan, Fokker, turned out to be a good flight model. The visual part, the sound, it's all at a high level.

Do you have any RW experience with the 146 or the RJ then? The 146 is deemed one of the best aircraft for FS, backed up by thousands of happy flyers and also RW pilots who helped us during the testing phase. The RJ will fly almost identically. We won't risk changing anything when we know how good it is currently. If you ever purchase it or fly it and have any specific issues, with feedback then by all means report it to our support team and we can take a look. Thanks for your feedback.
