The mechanics corrections by Joe are so god darned awesome because we know that Pyrion knows his stuff, but he does make mistakes and Joe is trying to respectfully correct those mistakes for viewers. Very well done. Personally think this team of four(Daf/Joe/Pyrion/Lewis) is probably the best Quad Team at the moment.

This series is just excellent. One of the best things the Yogscast has put out in a while. I had never played Dota before until watching it. Joe's editing and animations are excellent. They keep the video snappy, informative, and entertaining Pyrion's rage and coaching is hilarious and helpful at the same time Lewis is the person we, the average Dota player, can relate to. He asks the right questions to help us understand what's going on and of course has natural chemistry with Pyrion And Daf is our lovable gibbon that we all want to support (who doesn't love an underdog?) but at the same time can sometimes love to hate as we can relate to having a player like him on our team (or often we are in his position too) Love this series so much

Goals in Dota by Priority: 1. Kill the Ancient 2. Kill an enemy or help your team kill an enemy 3. Stay alive or keep your team alive 4. Destroy a tower or help your team destroy a tower 5. kill creeps Use your skills (for 1-4) always until you find out when it is not so useful. A good way to think about moving round the map is move quickly with intent. Know why you are going somewhere. Know what you will do when you get there and know what will happen when you do. You are going jungle. You will activate blade mail when you see an enemy. This will be thought of before you get there. You pre-load in your what you are doing, not getting up there and flailing around. It takes around .1-.2 seconds for your brain to see something and comprehend what it is. That is not including planning time. That is just you understanding what is going on. By knowing what you are doing before you avoid the flail.

This was maybe Daf's worst early game ever, including the early videos. In a match up that was heavily favored for him. I think when Pyiron and Lewis were talking about his just not being a mid player that might be the correct answer
@sameveland8560
@sameveland8560 2 жыл бұрын
Mid tests your mechanics and positioning more than any other lane so those being dafs weakest skills doesnt help, not to flame at all but if I get a mechanically unskilled player in mid like someone who doesn't play it a lot the matchup almost doesn't matter because the person will misplay really important things in lane before 5m and give me a big advantage. The knowledge and skill checks required are just more emphasized so if you have issues with being fast with your decision making or mechanics you're better suited to offlane and just learn positioning atleast while you learn.

The sole reason Radiant won, is because Dires Sniper had such an over inflated glass-thin ego that game, which was shattered when getting himself killed by the blademail, tilting him into TPing back in even when his team had left. 100& tilt, if he wasn't then he wouldn't have gone back in like that and instead thought "OK, that was too aggressive, gonna take a step back." Pyrion was right, without Sniper, Dires team fell apart. Though that last fight seemed incredibly lucky.

@redzig2235
@redzig2235 2 жыл бұрын
@@vonbear7288 That's kind of what I'm talking about. If Daf thinks he knows better he might push back on the advice. When he is completely out of his element and has no idea what to do the only choice is to follow instructions. You are right about the forgiving heroes, I think he would do good on similar heroes like Bristle or Tide. Pick a hero that lets you get in the fight and hit buttons. He also should avoid any hero with a skillshot., but that's just my opinion.

I never watch Daf streaming, because in the short clips in this series, he is just annoying to listen to and i think that is where the non-improvement comes in. (Atleast from my pov) - Often when Daf dies, he does the classic "noob" thing and says "Oh where is my team?" or "Why isnt this guy hitting his spells" etc. We have all had this happen to us a billion times over the years and these are the kind of people who will NEVER improve... If u always throw blame and dont say "maybe i shouldn't have done this and that or change my items like this" etc. You will never. ever. ever learn. Man up and tell yourself "oh im an idiot because i did this" and the next time, u will do a little better. Listen, watch and learn and please have some self-awareness. When you lose your lane or w/e, it is not because of your team across the map. I know in this situation they are talking about mindset. But i think everything culminates regarding this subject. One thing is being bad, everyone is when starting.. But never improving obviously has many different factors. What i personally see with Daf is never looking at the minimap, never looking at enemy items and most importantly: He doesn't why he does the things he do... Why tp top with half hp? Probably because BOT was ready so he just clicked. Why not swap the dust, when going to kill Sniper. Because of 100% tunnel vision and the only thing he saw was his Q ability and the sniper. Besides that.. I normally hate raging, but Flax way of doing it is just kinda funny i feel. I can also relate. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk. I'll be here every monday.

This is the reason people hate to fight Sniper. Not because he's annoying (which he is) or because he's "OP" (according to low level players). But because when you lose to Sniper, it's your team's own fault. Your team couldn't coordinate, so he just A-clicks the ground and gets a rampage. The fact that he rage-bought back and died immediately, with his team not being punished for it, is INFURIATING. Especially when you're a Support main who has been trying to encourage your team to focus him, but your carry just AFK farms in jungle for 30 minutes. Good for that PA though. She and Pablo kept the team in the game.

Pyrion's quite often wrong, but rarely has he been so wrong as when he had the horrendous "if you don't know what to do, just play a support" take. It's the other way around. If you're a core and you don't know what to do, you farm. You chill in safe places and wait for your team to enable you. You wait for your supports, who placed the wards and have an understanding of where to go, to lead you into places with kills and you go with them to achieve shit. If you're a support with 0 understanding of how the game's going, you're useless. A support isn't just "place ward, don't lasthit". And having that mindset is incredibly indicative of Pyrion's actual ingame skill. Thinking that supports are somehow less impactful and it's all about the cores is some grade-A shit insight.

18:25 Pyrion is even more wrong than Lewis points out. When the point of the game is to kill other people, why is there no constant death match going on? Because fighting often is not the optimal thing to do. Your team could be out of position, you could be behind infarm trying to catch up or other objectives are up. Seriously, anyone who goes "I am standing next to a champion, I have to fight." is legit the herald player. Daf might have decided wrong here, but don't tell people that crap

I'm truly not sure if Flax understands what solo queue pug dota is like, I catch his streams a lot and I've never seen him solo queue he's always five stack where comms is a given. I wonder this because of the way Flax talks like teamwork is a given in Dota, as if it as easy to say lets go this tower and team will respond. He made a statement at some point about if you have an initiator just say you're going to do it an do it and your team will follow and that is very much not true. The majority of these solo pug queuers, I'd say 80% and up are entirely selfish players, they do what they want, when they want, regardless of what anyone else on the team is doing. This is why you repeatedly see the support players building selfish items and not using their support items on friendly heroes. These are the type of players that will go jungle when they should be pushing, save themselves when they should save their carry, dieback, roam and die solo. Team work is so so important to have an effective Team in dota and 9/10 there's barely any in these pug matches and its nigh impossible to get people to coordinate even if one or two people are trying. Solo pug dotes is horrendous and its pretty much what killed this game for me, I was never able to five stack from the get go but even with a 3 or 4 stack the amount of games where the other pugs just wouldn't cooperate was truly shocking and as my friends grew tired of the game and stopped playing I was resigned to solo queuing game after game of people just refusing to work together as a team. Winning and losing becomes almost entirely RNG as we saw in this match neither team was using any Team work and it came down entirely to the acts of individuals to decide the fate of the match.

I think that PFlax is overestimating something here. From everything we've seen on Daf & Joe's stream, there is 0 communication between pubbies, aside from swearing and racism. Even pings from them are rare, nothing to indicate "Hey, sniper there, let's get him". So you have to assume as a player that you're not going to get any help at all, aside from in the team-fights where you happen to all be in the same place at the same time.

I'm not gonna lie, I think it's time to end this series. Daff isn't really getting better and pflax is just getting madder.
