Great video! Looking back at your row, I found that putting a little strip of electric tape across the beam, 1/4” past where your shin angle is like Cam’s, you’ll sense a little bump if you compress too far forward to the weak positions. After a few weeks it will be reflex. You are easily a sub 6:22 rower.

Hi Mark, just picked your most recent video to thank you for the role you unknowingly have played in my completion of the half marathon of Amsterdam today. As a 38 year old male with no background in endurance sports whatsoever I needed quit a bit of motivation and inspiration to get there. Since the vast majority of the other fitness content is no fun at all, your channel stuck. So thanks! And I bet that my time of 1:44 would likely place me in the top half of my age group - smoking men of 35+ (yes, I know, final step in becoming an adult about my health)

Your good at making this look fun and funny. I'm so out o shape it's sad but it does not take long to get that way after an injury or two. At 67 years old I've hiked almost 5000 miles in the last 4 years and 2500 miles of it was backpacking on the Pacific Crest Trail in California. Now I'm injury free so I'm back to hiking 4 days a week if it's not too hot building up my aerobic endurance before I try working on my uphill speed. I would like to do a 10K trail run before I'm 70 years old. I'm still a little too fat to run much so I'm work on hiking 20 miles at a time. Once I lose 15 pounds I'll start running again. Dont want another overuse knee injury.

Very entertaining content. One sequence reminded me of a book I read recently, the journals of A P Low, a geographer who mapped the interior of northern Canada. He records one canoe portage over mountainous terrain of 6 miles which required 2 trips, so total of 18 miles. The packs carried weighed 100 lbs and the average voyageur carried 2 packs at a time on a tumpline (This was average for them - during the fur trade the beaver pelts were in bales weighing 90 lbs and most carried 2 bales on a portage, some carrying more). Low records that the portage was done at 3 mph. Over a rough trail, hilly, with loads of 200 lbs, and for them just a day in the life. I wonder how we would stack up. Anyway, love the humor and inspiration.

Hey Mark, I just found out about your channel and wanted to compliment you. You give an example that everyone can sport. you dont have to be the best you just have to start. sport is fun and isnt watching your calories intake and stepping on a scale every day. People can relate to your way of sporting and also the 10 years before and now progress. it wont happen in 3 months. If you like to sport, go for it do it. if you just want to get fitter and do a walk every now and then thats fine aswel. there is always someone better in sport then you are and this video is a good example that its not about bitching on the better person but learning from him and see him as an example to reach a goal. Really good content with a good dose of humor, tips and sports combined. keep it up man. If you like to sport, go for it do it. just go outside you dont need to start with 10K worth of equipment. You have my sub! greetings from the netherlands

Absolutely love your videos, hilarious too! But of course I have to defend us short guys who hear tall guys complain about the disadvantages of being tall for a few zones. It's an overall advantage and only slight disadvantage on the two zones you mentioned, burpee broad jump and lunges, but even with those the longer trips downward is offset my the long stride forward that means fewer broad jumps and lunges. In the end I think Hyrox did a good thing in creating a course that balances out all individual advantages and disadvantages. The best example is the wall balls, it's a short quick squat for me at 5'7" but the the target requires a lot of energy to hit 10ft whereas you have a longer slower squat but can probably touch the target LOL.
