There are literal depictions of it used during the Battle of Kappel in 1548 when it rose to prominence as an anti-Pike weapon. We know its earliest usage was during the Italian Wars in 1494. Dragonbarrow Cave (Caelid) = the big bear right at the beginning = there is only one brief moment when he really only briefly goes back in the direction of his own cave and that is the only moment where you can quickly past him further into the main cave ... if you miss this moment, good luck

Easily cheesed - if you use ranged attacks from the end of the opening tunnel, you can predict its attacks enough to easily dodge its roar while staying out of reach of its melee attacks. It takes a while but you can kill it, no problem. After a while you'll start to see a pattern in its attacks, and you can get away with going out and hitting it just as long as you know when to retreat again Edit: for a stress free fight, though, I'd recommend bleed, rot or poison arrows

@@Loctorak right ... meanwhile I`ve defeated this special big bear and other of these bears, beasts and monsters relatively easily and quickly in melee combat, which for me is the normal way to go in Elden Ring with my "Guts Berserk" strength orientated character ... I`m currently using two weapons with this character: mainly the "Heavy Colossal Greatsword" + "Lion`s Claw" and the "Executioner`s Flame Art Greataxe" + "Flame of the Redmanes" as the second weapon depending on the situation, both weapons are awesome especially after their buffs of Patch 1.09

Just put the flask in the first slot and hold down instead of cycling. You can go from third slot to second in about the same amount of time but only pressing one button instead of two

Z-why-hander. Zwei is 2 in German, the sword takes 2 hands to wield (irl) zweihander (two-hander). You can think of poise as posture endurance. Every weapon has a hidden posture damage amount and when you deplete your poise to 0 you stagger and are opened to riposte (front/back stab)

Maybe I'm all by myself with this, but to be able to balance a heavyweight weapon irl, I would definately need the strength to carry it, and the dexterity to hold it in place. That Fromsoftware tend to make this 'special' weapons ideally suited for a quality build, makes sense to me. #GizaWheel

If we're getting realistic with it, basically none of the colossal weapons could even be used for combat - they're simply too impractical and unwieldy. Things like the prelates great hammer looks to be a chunk of iron the size of half a horse - that thing would weigh >1 tonne so probably be impossible to lift, let alone swing around accurately. Any double-sided axe is out, as well. No sense using a weapon that could as easily behead you as anyone else. Or that anchor, stabbing you in the back every time you hoist it on your shoulder.

The rule to a weapon's type being it's highest requirement is weird to me. Imo it should be what it's scaling is best as without infusion, as infusion isn't being taken into account in these videos. Whether this is based off of base stats or fully upgraded, it makes more sense and opens up more possibilities

Very fun strengt vid. Poise is a defence stat tho. The higher you have it, the less likely you will be staggered by enemy attacks. Good example in the end of your vid is you tanking Elden Stars and still being able to attack. That's cause of your high poise.

Chilling Mist ash of war, it may not increase your base attack necessarily but frost makes all damage hurt more and on weapons like the Giant Crusher it gets a basekit Frost Proc of 105 many other colossal weapons have the same proc stat or higher and if you like the watchdogs staff or whatever it’s called you can use that and the battle axe (I forget the name but you get it from fighting a gladiator looking dude in the snowy area) they both also have a Scarlet Rot proc so you can do big boi damage if you get frost and scarlet rot to proc with one another

On today's pronunciation lesson for anyone who doesn't know the actual pronunciation; "Zweihander" is a German compound-word formed by the words Zwei, the German word for the number two, and hander, which is German for "handed". Now, hander is pronounced exactly how you think it is, which leaves the only slightly tricky "Zwei" part to handle. Let's break it down to phonetic components. The "Z" holds a very slight T-sound rolled directly into an s-sound, and pronounced the same was as the Ts in Tsunami.
