When I lived in Jackson County, Oregon, which I did for 3 years. The Progressives passed a law which prohibited the Police from stopping or interdicting the drugs on I-5 or anywhere else in the state. They were not allowed to stop the drug couriers. on the major drug route to Vancouver. So you know why the drugs and homeless are a problem, it's their own doing.

Apparently you don't understand how our government works. Allow me to explain. Congress has the authority of oversight. Congress has the authority to investigate. Congress has the authority to create legislation and pass that legislation into Law. Congress DOES NOT have prosecutorial power. It can not bring charges against people or institutions. That falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Justice. If Congressional investigation uncovers criminal activity, they refer the investigation to the DoJ, the DoJ takes up the investigation and they pursue any legal action they deem necessary. It's called the Separation of Powers, and it is designed so that no one branch of government becomes too powerful. Checks and Balances. Now ask me which political party has the DoJ in their pocket. I'll give you a hint: It's not the Republicans. Separation of Powers and Checks and Balances, this is High School level Civics/Social Studies/American History sh*t, were you just not paying attention in class?!? 🤨

How? Learn how your government works and stop whining. Control of the House is all Dominion and the voters gave Republicans in the last election. Chiefly that means they can block legislation, including any more frivolous spending of trillions of dollars like the first 2 years of Biden. Passing any new laws takes the concurrence of the Senate and the Usurper in the White House. They can also investigate, but Biden officials are pretty unresponsive in hearings. Tricky part would be to block the increase on the debt limit unless Democrats agree to Republican demands. Could pry loose some concessions, but could also shut down the government including default on national debt and even delaying Social Security checks. Hard to say where that will go as we all know Biden is not playing with a full deck.

My mother lives just outside of San Antonio and I often when speaking with her try to convince her to leave there and come back to Oklahoma because I do not think she is safe in the state of Texas near the southern border. Often she tells me about buses being parked off the road and the doors open and a flood of migrants come running out. Most everyone knows that Fentanyl is not a virus that immigrants have. Fewer people realize that Mexican drug cartels, and other cartels traffic Fentanyl and other illicit drugs to Texas buy sneaking it across the border, not by way of immigrants who are often fleeing cartel related violence. Cartels and other crime groups in the US could not operate if they did not receive equipment and supplies from Chinese crime organizations that either are, or are not, coordinated by the Communist People's Party. Chinese ghost ships drop anchor far off the shores of the Pacific long after turning off their Geo-spacial tracking monitors. That is a red flag for sure. Meanwhile, Mexican authorities appear to lack any reasonable level of seriousness regarding the Fentanyl crisis while many Texans believe that Fentanyl is the major crisis in Texas while ignoring the painfully obvious truth that non-drug related gun violence is the #1 killer in Texas. And why are Fentanyl deaths so very high in Texas, but not in Mexico, or other countries where it may be processed? This indicates that the problem is due to bad-parenting in the midst of a country that has lost most all forms of culture graces. No immigrants are standing in front of your churches, or schools forcing children to swallow Fentanyl. What could be causing bad-parenting? Time wasted on social websites by way of a "smart" phone rather than knowing ones own children? Fretting over the latest conspiracy theory fostered by a con-artist politician? One thing is for sure, immigrants have less to do with drug abuse and drug overdosing in Texas than gun-violence has to do with faulty bullets. It's always a serious indictment against an individual when they view a busload of immigrants as a justification for buying a gun.

Why don't you simply secure the border and solve practically every problem dealing with illegal aliens? Congress does nothing but talk around the issues (Republicans as well as the Democrats) when all it takes is actually doing what Biden by law is supposed to do and secure our border. Close the border. And then open it to legal immigration.

It is good that Congressman Roy refers to the epidemic as "fentanyl poisoning" rather than "fentanyl overdose". There is no dosage for street or illegal fentanyl. Fentanyl is a very STRONG and POTENT pain medication usually reserved for cancer patients, and in controlled dosage through medicated patch form.

The problem isn't the borders, it's the race-based policies driving it. Race doesn't exist. There is only one race , the human race. What matters is culture NOT race. Border law and all discussions of border law should be based upon culture not race. To be a cultural minority, and to be protected as a minority and to enjoy the diversity benefits of a minority, you ought to actually BE a cultural minority. In Texas, Mexican Americans are the MAJORITY NOT THE MINORITY and the various cultures that comprise European Americans (whether that be an Irish American, a Polish American, a Jewish American or a German American are ALL minority cultural groups and should be protected under the laws as such. Likewise, in most of the SE USA, African Americans (having formed a unique and distinct culture separate from African and various Caribbean cultures) are the MAJORITY culture and the various European cultures are in the minority and ought to be treated under the law as such. In other parts of the country such as Maine, Wyoming etc. Mexican and African American cultural groups are in the minority and SHOULD enjoy FULL protection as minority groups in those areas. Let's have a scientifically-based policy based upon CULTURAL DIVERSITY not an unscientific political-based policy based on the racist concept of race. Were that to be the case, BOTH Republicans AND Democrats would be in favor of securing American borders. That works for me. Let's do it!

I love that Mr. Roy loves Christianity and his religion. It makes him and his family feel safe and happy. However, I am a republican and also an atheist and I feel like some of the republican leaders seem to think that if you don't believe in God you don't have any morals or direction in life. We believe in the freedom of religion which includes not having one. I am an atheist republican - we do exist. Can we use government time to talk about government things? Public schools weren't better in the 50s because they talked about God, they were better because the teachers were 100% backed by parents and administration. Our schools are a disaster because we no longer support our teachers and teach our kids to respect them.

You almost got the point! Those of us assured of God's love must be patient with good people who have not yet found that assurance. WE must work together to rid ourselves of the evils being pushed on our society BEFORE we find that society GONE, and replaced with a society much like Sodom or Gomorrah. Whatever you think of God, you have to admit His Book has answers for those of us who want a peaceful society.

Its a wide spread epidemic! There was 3 girls at my Daughter's High School who overdosed in the parking lot just hours before Graduation. 2 of the girls died there in their car, the third girl was taken to the hospital. She survived and is now being charged with 2 count's of 2nd degree murder. She was the one who brought the Fentanyl laced drugs to the school. Then a week later that girls mom also died from Fentanyl overdose. I am in a small farming community in South West Tennessee. This is not just in the big cities but also in the very rural areas of our Country! I am in full agreement with MTG that any Fentanyl related crimes should be meet with the Death Penalty! Our children are in Danger as long as this stuff is coming into the Country!

How many military training bases do we have within USA? Why can't part of their training be eyes & ears on the border and report breaches to the understaffed border agents and take part of that off their hands. Also, military could put up much better electronic surveillance over the distance of the border than an unguarded wall
