Rand paul over here continuing his war against the USPS. It's a service not a money making business. And they never mention the biggest reason they lose so much money. That reason is turnover rate in the more expensive places to live. People come here learn that they'll have to work 60 hours a week just to survive for what is likely 8-10 years when they'll make a living wage. In denver lost people find better jobs because McDonald's workers make almost as much as new mail carriers. Our new contract is basically a pay cut after congress reworked our health care we are seeing a 20% increase in most of our health insurance premiums but we get a 1.3% raise. Meanwhile our bloated management gets a 5% raise last year and a 9% raise in 2025 they showed in the senate hearing that dejoy has received roughly 40% in raises since becoming PMG meanwhile carriers the craft that brings the money to the USPS has received i believe 1.1% annually plus the cola which is roughly 50% of inflation. But our senators are too stupid to know these things.

Just so everyone is aware because your probly not the usps has terrible turnover due to over working "part-time" positions (upwards 60-70 hours a week with one day off) it can take up to 7 years to be full time as a carrier and as a clerk 2 years this use to be a great job starting pay is $20 hr so can you work 6 days a week for $20 hr? And pay your mortgage groceries ect? Just reference maintenance man for McDonald's makes $23 an hour walmart grocery pickers make over $20. If your fulltime in the po prior to 2013 your set your pay chart is about 70k a year but after 2013 they made dramatic pay cuts to the chart whereas some routes make about $38k a year those carriers even though fulltime have to work 6 days a week just to get thier pay to $50k so someone please tell me why current ceo raised his own pay $145k from 2023 to 2024 if one the PO isnt profitable and two current employees make less than $50k a year working 60hrs a week?.

The creation of the post office is to provide low cost delivery for every address in america. We raise prices its like 1 or 2 cent at a time. See how much it costs to send document by fedex or ups.
