I'm mostly a huge Star Wars fan. I love the movies, the games, the books and I even write my own stories which takes place in this universe. I don't know how big a Star Wars fan you are yourself but seeing I mostly/only read Star Wars books myself, I recommend Lost Stars by Claudia Gray. It's about two lovers who both go their separate ways even if they remain linked together and it also offers alternative perspectives on the events which take place during the original trilogy. Another excellent book is Battlefront II: Inferno Squad by Christie Golden, which is an espionage thriller story.

You are smart and well done, I praise you. A book can become a friend to person and help grow up, or he(she) can find answers to own questions. The best Romantic literature is poetry about women. I want to translate one poem into English, but it’s not easy: Yuri Levitansky “how to show spring.” - master of compliments. Thanks for the video, Audra

That was really interesting to hear about the type of books you're into. I am just getting back into reading the past year and honestly I'm still in the 'comfort reading' stage. So I am still loving the Harry Potter series (currently on Order of the Phoenix), you just can't go wrong with them! I did try one book but it was just too much for me and quite overwhelming with a lot of jargon words so I went back to the Harry Potter. I think fantasy is my favourite type of book but I honestly wouldn't mind getting into romance books so I might take a look into these ones you suggested! 🤍

If you like procedurals at all, I would recommend the Pendergast series from Preston & Childs. It's long (currently 20-something mainline books and other side stories), but really dang good. It's based around New York and the Museum of Natural History, but it goes all over the place since there are so many books. I'm waiting for the most recent one to drop in audiobook form, so, I'm currently going through the Dresden Files per my friend/bandmate's recommendation. It's basically the same as the Pendergast series, except a little more light-hearted and WAY more fantasy oriented. That one's based in Chicago, and the main character is a practicing wizard and private investigator. Time investments, but dang good ones imo. Dresden may do it more for you since vampires/werewolves/ghost/fairies/etc are all over the place, and Pendergast is pretty grounded in reality.

relatable, also a big nerd but a different kind. i never read books, (did play a lot of games tho) but i watched stem videos (especially recommend 3B1B and SOME). i atended many optional stem things and we also had stem, and astrophysics summer camps. and most of all i did 3 research projects in highschool: -1.) derived general equation for volumes of most archimedian solids and regular polytopes in higher dimensions. -2.) several combinatorial problems about brick configurations. and i also learned video editing ad a lot of programming in mathematica, when i made a video presentation and all animations -3.) programmed a physics simulation of 1-layer paper airplanes. and then also a code, that tracked paper planes in the video and their orientation now i'm a 3rd year physics student and it's great. also out of 21 people in my highschoo class 5 of us went to physics and 3 math, which is in the same place

I think that labels like geek, jock or nerd are very stupid. These words have negative connotations.They kinda suggest that it is abnormal to be a professional athlete, scientist, engineer, writer, doctor, etc. It's just crazy. I mean are all the people just meant to be mediocre? Fiction books, TV shows, music, video games and sports are meant for entertainment. A person got to be very passive and apathetic to remain uninterested in anything or probably just greedy/narcissistic to care only about appearances and wealth. Of course, the latter are very important: we do want to follow the fashion, we do want to be rich but there's more to life than just that. In light of this, I guess geeks, jocks, and nerds are more normal and more common sense people than the grey mass of sheeple. So having a passion for something like a hobby turns kids into geeks, nerds and jocks?--These are definitely stupid labels.
@galzajcytmu66595 ай бұрын
@@billmorrigan386 i mean i'm not a native speaker but i don't really understand it as negative. i think it's mostly just used for the people (like me), that wanna analyze, organize everything deeply... some/most people don't have that desire and are more passive, and i tink that's totally fine. we need different people for different things and everyone should spend their free time the way they like.
@billmorrigan3865 ай бұрын
@@galzajcytmu6659 No, it's a bit negative. It usually has some connotation of being socially awkward and even unattractive like ugly or unkempt. The word geek has similar connotations. These words are not completely neutral.

The books shown in the video are about feelings, romance, relationships and the inner world (food, figuratively speaking). Thank you, Audra :). In my opinion, the thirst for knowledge is the impossibility of getting enough because in order to be "good enough" you need to be able to feel. Desire for praise: “good” and a brilliant child are one and the same. Who is this? :)
