I don't subscribe to many KZbinrs, but the few that I do and actually watch are all saying their viewership is down. Not sure sure what is happening. I think there was a boost during Covid when people had more time, and now people have less time? Or there are just so many KZbinrs now, folks get spread thin on the the content they watch. Whatever the case, you are still one of enjoyable channels I watch. I'll be ready in a few weeks to see your new challengers and adventures.

I think that the hub-bub of daily life has many of us by the nape of the neck at intervals! I know I've missed some of your videos but I returned last evening to find I'll have many new ones to enjoy, I always return though. I bought a travel trailer and tow vehicle as a single and have been struggling a bit to learn all the things I need to be able to do. I took this step because of the peace, serenity and perseverance I observe in your adventures. When you encounter a problem you "work the problem" seemingly without fear or much anxiety. I am thankful to have your example to follow! Thank you for your patience and attention to detail when teaching about the building and renovations you do also. 🙏🌻

So Do I. I started with Slim out and aboot and although I'm not much interested in DYI home restoration, I've been supporting him with every video he makes. It's a shame that he's seen a decline in viewership with his travels. But it's somewhat of a job and more viewers = more ad revenue. I don't blame him a Bit.

I worked in a lumber mill (50 years ago) in Northern California; they packed up all the equipment when they sold to Georgia Pacific and shipped it down there. It's not that I don't like your travel videos Slim, it's just that almost every You-Tube nomad puts out endless videos of road trips.. between 1977 and 2010 I traveled all over the USA in several different types of RVs and so I lose interest in watching travel videos. However being a typical man, I love your videos where you did all those changes and repairs to your trailers, cars and now your fantastic cabin build. So while I do watch all of your videos Slim, I don't have the same level of interest in your travel videos as I do with videos like this one.. Keep this type of videos coming my clean shaven friend ... I promise I won't miss a single one of them 🤓

I think that your travel videos are great and you know a fair bit about photography (videography???). I enjoyed my trips to Washington State, Oregon, California, Nevada, Louisiana, Texas Alabama and the Atlantic states with my late wife. I saw many places in your videos that I remember, however I can see why the "viewership" dropped off a bit. Your videos where you are devising, creating and utilizing creative (Macgyvering?) solutions to problems truly speaks to the hearts of your subscribers. This is where the genuine "Slim Potatohead" truly shines (with successes and not so great ideas included). Certainly continue to roll on as long as you can and capture it all. Leaven that with a good helping of your "now how am I going to handle this job (on a budget)" and you will do just fine.

Slim, some of those pieces or sections that cannot be used whole, cut them up to make cedar "planks" for cooking salmon, and either sell/ship them yourself or sell at a farmers' market, flea market or whatever. As for the sawdust, the easiest way to make fire starters is to use egg cartons, sawdust, and talk with some school teachers about collecting used crayon ends for you, and then melt and pour the wax into the piles of sawdust in the egg cartons. I always admire your creative spirit working to problem solve, good job with the tree! If you can get most of the dirt out of the tree roots, you could cut it up and then use it for either firewood or campfires or ??? or just burn it.
