Also, I'd agree on another comment that the Golden Ages is kinda more for Gen Zs/younger millennials who'd appreciate the box art, voice acting and general vibe of it all. Moondrop themselves also leans heavily on the anime culture since the beginning, which I personally quite like. I suppose you're more likely to like the Golden Ages' aesthetics if you also agree on how cute and funny Moondrop's mascot is 🤣 (huge bonus point if anyone gets this)

how is it compared to beoplay ex and az80 in terms of sound?

Thx for breaking it down. Moondrop has got to cut out the mono (R) only bit for $80, plus should have had better mics at default.

Thanks for the review! I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, it looks like the first batch is sold out, so I'm waiting fot the second ones. I hope Moondrop follows it with their buds firmware update soon to fix especially the mic quality.

I would love if you guys would upload the Bang & olufsen H95 sound curve measurements in squigink. This review is really dope! I love seeing new tech-ish headphones/earbuds.

Maybe you should review also some IEMs and Bluetooth adapters for them. Recently went with KZ ZNA (for bass....) and KZ AZ20.

Was waiting for a review on these, and so glad I didn't buy them. The posts on forums/reddit just seemed like people who bought it but weren't actually happy with them, just trying to convince themselves that they were. Are you planning on reviewing the Oneplus buds 3 at some point? For less than €100 they seem like a very good choice in that price segment but I can mostly find indian or "far too nice" American reviews.

I am one of those who genuinely enjoyed the Sparks, even though they were only great when it comes to sound. How do the Golden Ages compare to the Sparks? Is it an upgrade? A worthy successor? Or is it a flop and you recommend the Space Travel instead?
@DHRME8 ай бұрын
It's definitely a cut above the Space Travel. Don't have the Sparks, so can't compare.
@prinzatago4 ай бұрын
Should be around the level of the Sparks, having maybe a bit more clarity and brightness since it's a planar driver. Try the GA out at a local store if you can. I bought mine and I'm pretty satisfied - think of it as a planar IEM that happens to be wireless. The ANC is a nice bonus. I think Crinacle will rate it soon. Let's see how the pro think.

The Golden Ages is not your usual TWS. It is actually a planar IEM that just happens to be wireless; and decent, unintrusive ANC that does not affect music quality. Obviously the Golden Ages is no Timeless, but for $80 it is pretty damn great. Bright and clear, great midrange, well controlled bass (nothing basshead though) and blinky treble. I feel like it's an alternative to the Moondrop May's more fun-sounding signature. Just don't buy the GA expecting it to perform well as a general usage, utility TWS. The ANC is by no means awesome, and it doesn't have selective filtering options like those from Sony. The microphone is utterly trash - I wish Moondrop would just remove the mic and put that money on build quality or ANC. In short, not for work, just for enjoying music.

@@DHRME I'm a truck driver, I test anc against real life noises ranging from the truck with the window open a little, to the sound of cages filled with heavy goods moving on to the tail lift of the truck and the cars passing on the street, people talking. These are very good. Better than oppo enco x2, better than a lot I've tried and sent back to Amazon. Yes they look a little cheap but it's that sort of design. It's a retro take on something. It's not going to look expensive and cool. That's why it's cheaper. But for sound , volume and anc. They really are a great deal better than your score. I respect your view and you guys rock. Always watch and listen to what you have to say but I'm so sorry, on this you're wrong. These buds are brilliant. Cheap and retro looking, but brilliant. Love you guys. ❤️

@iwantthatone6522 That’s fair. Thanks for your comment! The Enco X2 weren’t great for ANC either. You should check out the Bose or Airpods Gen 2!

No self-respecting Vakman would be seen wearing those. The planar magnetic drivers are interesting in a consumer product like these and they seem to have done a good job with audio quality. But side loading apps and giving file and location permissions to an obscure Chinese company? Sorry no go.

Moondrop isn't that obscure. Especially in the west

I have Edifier headphones, and the app (Edifier Connect) works the same. They need to give file and location permission. Somehow the app let you play music with the app, and the location permission seems like an obligation because the chinese goverment policy. CMIIW.
