The Hammond sounds the best, but the Leslie sim on the Yamaha is too thin, so Nord is second best to my ear.

1. Hammond! 2. Nord; sounds very good, but brighter than a B3, rather like a H100. May be useful in a band context though. 3. Yamaha. Meh, compared to the competitors. However, I would have loved it back in the day when I struggled with a Crumar Organizer and a 1st gen Korg CX-3.

I've just bought the yc 73 and I find the sound of the hammonds very shrill when the Lesley is turned on ( the new Studio version ) . Listening to this I can hear it in the samples . The Nord and the Hammond have a much rounder sound in the upper registers . The sound is OK in the middle of the keyboard but becomes unuseable as you climb into the upper ranges . If I try to EQ the sounds to dial out the screaming sound in the high notes the middle range becomes dull and uninteresting

How did the feel of the YC61 keypress being at the bottom vs. the top on the Nord actually feel to you for playability? I'm worried it will mess with the feel I'm so used to with top of the key triggering.

The Hammond sounds the most realistic to a B3/A-100. It has a fatter and rounder EQ compared to the YC and Nord.

You can really hear the dynamic range on the Hammond that the YC is really missing, but the Nord gets a little closer.. Best place to hear that is as drawbars are brought up, the sound brightens so much more on the hammond yet retains the power. The YC sounds like it tries to brighten but still muffled and tries to retain the power.. The Nord brightens more than the YC and gets closer on the holding power which is why the nords cost twice as much as the YCs

@@artie218 I hear that. Coincidentally I heard a friend gigging on a Nord E6-HP a few days ago and could hear what you’re describing compared to the YC. I’m still using a XK3c and it’s doing just fine for now.

Comparing a 3500 euro instrument ( xk5) to a 1600 euros one ( yc61) For the price it sounds great! Mine is connected to a Leslie 3300.. And it does the job!

Hello Jerome. In real truth, we are using the XK5 as a reference to see how the other two compare. I also agree that, for the money, the YC61sounds very well and it’s very competent. And it’s more versatile too. I use it in almost every concert I play. Thank you for your comment. Best regards!

YC61 is really good since the leslie sim update but the Hammond eats the Yammy and Nord which doesn't surprise me. I prefer the YC over the Nord

HAMMOND IS HAMMOND and is the best clone of Legendary B3/C3/A100. The Electronic Leslie is the best however I prefer the original 122 or 147 or 760. Nord is so very good, just a little under HAMMOND XK.

Every one of them sounds like a tonewheel Hammond - of which I’ve played over a dozen. And depending on the condition of the organ and the Leslie (of which there are many choices!), each sounds unique. For me nowadays, being over 60 and no longer eager to move the A100 or even that dual manual modeler, the Yamaha would be my choice. Just because it can also replace my old Alesis QS7.1 AND my VA synth. That Yamaha plus a weighted 88 key controller could do it all.

YC......very good leslie sim. When you start the leslie, also the soundcollor and dynamic chances conttinu, The reason the YC works here in the sttudio

While none of the Leslie sims are stellar, the Yamaha's sounds more like a speaker sitting in front of a fan than a spinning horn/rotor, the Nord's pulses seem too fast and shallow, and while the Hammond is the best hear is greatly lacking in authenticity as well. I wish IK Multimedia, Melda, or PSP would turn their incredible software Leslie sims into pedals. Ugh

Why all the Nord hate? XK5 outclasses both of course but the YC sounds cheesy to my ears. Nord is alright with sub par Leslie. Would be interesting to compare the Nord and the YC on a Neo Vent II.

Yamaha sounds the warmest. The nord is a touch brighter. The hammond sounds "dryer".

The Hammond XK-5 obviously has the best sound, but the Yamaha YC is incredibly close, costs half as much and does a lot of other things at a very good level, so I took this one hands down (and sold the Nord Electro, overrated in some ways)

And how are you doing with the yc? I got the ck yesterday but it only has 1 usable organ. The combis are all useless bc distorted. The rotaries are also weired Luckily I have a very bice rotary on my strymon mobius pedal that saves my day

1. Hammond 2. Nord (but not by much and if you consider versatility, it goes to #1. 3. Yamaha. The Yamaha is VERY good and would be #1 EXCEPT nearly ONLY to be beaten by Nord or actual Hammond. Reason? The Leslie on the Yamaha is too brittle.

Indont have the bucks for the sk BUT do you think an xk1c will do? I have a ck88 but for organ its very meh Luckily I have a great rotary on my strymon mobius pedal

Would be happy with Nord at half the price of Hammond considering the piano and other sounds on the Nord are better than other keyboards imo and you can load in the sounds you want
