Through the whole chapter I was thinking "spider boss, cool" then, as I was sucked into the boss stage, I was thinking "I wonder what the song is, it's gotta be something spider related... what if..." It does make sense to use a song from Undertale here, both games have fairly similar "defense" mechanics, where you (or a small shape that represents you) has to avoid dangerous themed "bullets" which occur at a predetermined time and place, requiring a lot of precision for both games. Anyway, this is excellent, to say the least! The remix matches JSAB's 'feel', whilst staying quite true to the original.

So copyright isn’t the reason these levels were originally scrapped, it was because it wasn’t up to the devs’ standards if I remember correctly. Weird reason but I’m pretty sure that’s why

Yeah, there's a couple sources that say it was cut due to it not being up to the devs' standards (one being the wiki), but I can't find anything that proves that. "We had to cut the 'Cavern world' for @shapesnbeats. A world with a unique songs from @_KUBBI, lotsa [sic] story telling and a minigame. But I do not regret it a bit. The game would have suffered a lot." That quote is from Lachhh on Twitter, but that doesn't really sound like "standards", it sounds like they chose not to pack too much into one game, as this chapter would've made the others suffer, which is why I said "pacing" instead of "time constraints".

For those who see there's a reference pointed at 1:16 but don't get it, here's a hint. Click to read more and hear it in detail if you really just can't see it. Give it a bit, you'll see the attack after like 12 seconds. So you give up? Okay. The giant spider's bouncing is the attack. The determination soul is the big spider, as it bounces around the screen causing damage, a little homage to the small spiders in the Muffet fight that warn the player of the type of attack Muffet will next use. It's simple, but cute.
