Its a drive axle (half shaft) with CV joint ends. The axle isn't "constant velocity," the universal joints at the ends are.

If you call it a cv axle or a drive axle I know what you mean, if you call it a driveshaft I think your talking about a truck or awd vehicle with a long driveshaft. I had an argument with a autozone worker about this one day in the store.

I had to do a clutch on a civic one time and our parts department had ordered the part in for the customer and came in for his appointment. I went to get the part and they ordered me an a/c compressor clutch. 🤦 Customer was not happy.

On a Honda fit? Maybe check with your local dealer to see if you have any outstanding recalls. Or maybe it has been done or it doesn't apply to your vehicle.

@@theoffroadingmechanic lol!! Man we got one and another one gm is saying to expect at least 30 units this month . Also my shop foreman had to replace a telematics communication module on one for some odd reason.no dtc no lights .honda just said to replace it which was odd

Was this an unsold vehicle I've had something like that happen where our dealership (not the one I'm at now) got contacted and said to replace something on a specific vin vehicle. I guess they try to fix something before the vehicle goes out to the consumers. I also had one for some reason this one customer had a letter for a recall but was weird because the letter didn't specified what it was until we looked it up and it was to replace an airbag but we don't usually have airbag recalls that person was the only one.

@@theoffroadingmechanic it was a sold vehicle in fact it was the very first one we had but my shop foreman could not figure out how to put into a special mode to get the new module to program even called gm and Honda to try to get things to work and I think GM just called him back to call OnStar and they walked him through the steps
