*I AM TEARY EYED AT THE MOMENT: I came across your channel yesterday and I spent the last 24hrs binging on all kpop reactions you did from the start.* *I’ve been watching kpop reactions since pre-pandemic so I know a GENUINE reactor vs the ones doing it for watch hours / monetary value only. I saw how each of your blackpink music video reaction got you progressively hooked into them. Like genuinely. And damn, you two even have a bias! And a bias wrecker! I am most specifically drawn into Coach -your facial expressions, how impressed, shocked, amused, crushing, fanboying your face whenever Rose hits that note. And just utter nothing but words of praise towards blackpink in general.* *And as I finsihed wacthing all your kpop reactions earlier today, I felt kinda sad. I was wishful thinking, how nice it would be if you have similiar kind of reaction for SNSD / GIRLS GENERATION but then, I don’t think you will because GG vibe isnt the same with blackpink- BP got edgy, badass kinda concept whereas GG is a mix of everything but they started bubblegum (2007) and I dont think you gonna like it (like New Jeans). So I gave up and said nevermind to myself.* *Then I saw this fresh upload 49mins ago. I scratched my eyes 5x to see if Im seeing correctly. A GIRLSGEN reaction???? I proceeded to click anyway and I was breathless every scene (i know the MV by heart) so i only needed to see your reactions. I was hella nervous at the end of the video that GG will get a New Jeans kinda reaction and I was overly happy when you both liked it!!! That’s what made me teary eyed. Earlier today I was only wishful thinking but then a few hours later, my wish came true! And you liked the first GG video!* *Now I can finally say- I subscribed because of Girls Generation, and looking forward for more GG reactions please!!!* 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 *You just reacted to a group that changed KPOP’s HISTORY, the LEGENDS, the QUEEENS, the BLUEPRINT and TEXTBOOK for all kpop groups, the most respected girl group of all time…* 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑 *To understand the impact of GG into Kpop History: Let’s just say that:* *GIRLS GENERATION walked so BLACKPINK could RUN.* *Thank you for giving Girls Generation a space on your channel.* 🥰🥰🥰 *-from a SONE /so-won/ since 2007* *PS: we have the same bias in blackpink: Rose* 🌹 *My GG bias is: Taeyeon (Leader & Main Vocalist)* 👑

Btw, another word to add your kpop vocobulary: TAEYEON is not only my bias, she is my ultimate bias. Untimate bias means YOUR UNTOUCHABLE, UNCHANGING. And from one of your reactions you asked do people change bias over the years? For me- NO. Taeyeon has been my bias since 2007 and several girlgroups later on, that has not changed. Not even once.

@@CoachCastTV*you’re most welcome! As a pioneer SONE since 2007, just a suggestion: before you deep dive into GG, please watch this fanmade 5th Anniversary tribute video (2012). @@CoachCastTV omg that tribute anniversary video is everything you need to know about Girls Generation! Please consider reacting to it! Yea I agree it’s like Blackpink Documentary Light Up The Sky but compressed in 9mins! That video will make anyone understand why Girls Generation (SNSD) deserves all the fame, honor, and respect they have now. Fame wasnt handed to them in silver platter, they worked their way up to their much deserved success. That’s why several generations later, their LEGACY lives on.. No girlgroup worked hard and suffered as much as these girls did. The new gen group stans might disagree, but only because they werent there to witness it during that ERA.* *there’s a part in that video where the girls wearing mint green outfits holding lolipops while crying so hard- backstory behind that is, on the way to the music show, their van broke down, and music shows have this SOP that if a group is a no-show / late, they will be banned. So the girls went on foot and run for their lives- geez, that was some kilometers/miles!!! But then all paid off when they won that night. That’s the reason why they were crying so hard on that part.*

In the Western music industry, the term "main" is not commonly used when referring to lead singers. Instead, the more appropriate terms are "lead vocalist" or "lead singer," which signify the best vocal performer in a band or group.

Girls' Generation is THE GOAT, hands down. Will forever be the true "Nation's Girl Group" when all is said and done. Other groups could surpass the fame, clout, views, number of song plays, followers, money etc., but what they've done will forever be ingrained in history. The way they changed the landscape during that period of time, promoted the Korean culture during the K-wave in 2010, and captivated the hearts of everyone all over the world will never be topped. Awesome video, Mr. and Mrs. Coach. Thank you!

The massive popularity of Girl's Generation is kinda hard to fathom. Every comment on this reaction is right and still doesn't do them justice. In 2015 Tiffany (one of the American members) hosted an award show in Singapore and basically everyone who won an award that night took a selfie with Tiffany on stage before even thinking of their acceptance speech. Mrs. Coach has stated several times that it is unbelievable the amount of talented young ladies being in k-pop groups. Well Girl's Generation is the reason why. Soooo many young girls decided to become an idol after becoming a Girl's Generation fan that basically agencies ended up overflowing with talent!

They debuted in 2007, 'The Boys' was released in 2011. It was their first song to enter the US market. Even guested on David Letterman show which was historic and that was the moment that opened the gates all for all the kpop girl groups to follow. So yes, they were very seasoned at this point and really is considered the best girl group in Korea. Their debut song titled "Into The New World" (inspired by Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 - From The New World) in 2007 is still their most iconic song. It's so iconic that it's almost considered a national anthem that has been used in unity rallies, schools, human rights protests, events celebrating resilience, women empowerment etc. in Korea to this day. Like Oasis' - "Don't Look Back in Anger" in the UK. That's how massive the influence Girls' Generation in Korean pop culture.

The Boys was 4 years into their career as they debuted in 2007 'Into the New World.' However, their debuted was just as amazing and is known as a kpop and Asia anthem. It's used in protest and events for change. Many civil rights group matched to the song. Moreover, most if not all girl group over the last 10 years had to do a performance of the song. It was vocally heavy with intense choreography. If you want to fully appreciate their talent then watch their live performances. MV for the group is chronological order. When it comes to most popular or most recognized song on the other hand, it's their song titled "Gee" in 2009. It was hailed by the Rolling Stone's list as the greatest kpop song of all time. And it holds the record for most #1 wins in a row. It stayed #1 for freaking 9 weeks! The record still stands to this day and their outfit on that music video (the skinny jeans) became legendary. They're (literally) the ones who popularized it and after the video was released, the "colored skinny jeans" (circa 2009-2013) became a trend worldwide. Just a little tidbit: a group called GFRIEND, which you haven't yet reacted to lol, was only the group that came close to Gee's record for 'most weeks that a song stayed in the top 10'. Their song "Rough" in 2016 did it for 7 weeks. Hope someday, somehow you guys get to react to them too. They're really great and was a key group in the 2015-2019 era :)

This is the Korean national girl group ‘Girls’ Generation’. Rated as the strongest of all time... This is SM's second generation girl group. The 3rd generation of this company is ‘Red Velvet’ and the 4th generation is ‘Aespa’. In particular, Taeyeon, the leader and main vocalist of this team, is a role model for all girl groups. The strongest vocalist of the 2nd generation. The 3rd generation is ‘Wendy’ from ‘Red Velvet’ ah! The woman who sang high notes near the end was 'Taeyeon'. (I highly recommend her solo song ‘INVU’.) All arguments can be put to rest by saying, “I’m Girls’ Generation.” Because the second generation was a really difficult time. Live performances were mandatory on all stages, and the schedule was ruthless. That was the standard at the time. (For example, they sometimes memorized new choreography and performed on stage in 10 minutes.) At that time, people performed on stage with the risk of dying while performing. In fact, there were cases where I fainted during the performance) So, when a Girls' Generation member said, "I'm Girls' Generation," no further proof was needed. The girl group “Girls’ Generation” is like that.

Even though I got into KPop in the 4th gen and worked my way backwards, when I got to GG, I fully recognize they were absolutely the gold standard before any of my faves got started (many current idols claim GG as their inspiration). I was happy to get to experience their Forever One comeback a couple years ago. Even though BP and Twice have reached unparalleled global exposure it’s debatable whether anyone has truly taken the crown GG earned for themselves. I feel like Coach and Mrs. Coach just had the epiphany that any new fan has where they think they have a handle on all the groups and realize they are still on the tip of the iceberg and haven’t seen the best yet.

I have been a fan of SNSD (girls' generation) since 2008... for the past several years they have not been very active until their 15th year anniversary. That comeback was extremely nostalgic and emotional for a lot of SONEs. Most of realize that we might have came for the great music, the awesome choreo, and the beautiful visual... but we have all stayed this long because of their personalities. There hasnt been another group that is as real as SNSD. They have never shy away from making a fool of themselves for a laugh. They have always been unapologetically true to themselves. Many times people from variety shows have screamed "SM please control them! How can you let them act this way! Idols should not be acting this way" 😂 And even though they have been an inspiration to many aspirings and current idols... they have always remained humble, caring, and nice toward their fans and staff. That's the main reason why i think SNSD has kept their status... it's because of who they are off stage and behind the camera lens.

Fact: How legendary Girls Generation to be proclaimed in their own country as Nations Girls Group? They debuted when Boy groups dominanted K-pop. They manage to switch the attention of audience to notice Girl group by beating the most popular boy groups. Always being ahead of boy groups established themselves as powerful household group. They did a lot of concept from sweet, sassy, etc. Manage to be the most awarded Group of all time in K-pop. They made a lot od trend in K-pop like example Yoona who made the position center and visual popular in K-pop position. Their Genie song performance in a helicopter pad became the most highest tv music show rating in history. First girl group to always claim the top spot no matter how many competition they have. They have a lot of down before but they achieve more a long the way making them K-pop living legends to be respected.

I remember everyone had bright colorful skinny jeans on the street when they released "Gee" or weird sneakers, fashions when "I got a boy" came out. The difference is that they regularly released music, they were in award shows, music shows, variety shows and so on. While blackpink company is putting them as superior and hard to get and release music once in few years. You've found gold with this one ✨ Girls' Generation is literal K-pop royalty. When even one member walks into a room, everyone freaks out. They will be celebrating their 17th anniversary this year, and it's incredibly rare for an old K-pop group to enjoy the massive popularity and pull in the huge numbers that they do till date. Kpop fans are refusing to let them go out of style haha, and it's obvious why. Till date, very few in Kpop come close to Taeyeon's vocal mastery, or Hyoyeon's dance skills. Half the members are main vocal material, the other half are popular Kdrama actressess, and one should never make the mistake of thinking visuals are all they have, and I mean this in earnest, they could all be part-time comedians. They've got jokes for every mood. Here are some facts that showcase how much of an influence they've been on newer K-pop groups: + BlackPink was originally supposed to be a 9-member group called PinkPunk, with YG stating that he wanted to create a hip-hop group that looked like SNSD. + Not coincidentally, TWICE is also a 9-member group, with the signature bubblegum pop sound SNSD was famous for in their earlier years. The term 'Golden 9' was popularised as a formula for fame because of SNSD. + BTS's Boy In Luv was inspired by SNSD's Taeyeon. + Everyone from ITZY to Red Velvet to Aespa to IOI to Momoland to Gfriend and Mamamoo and many many more have named GG as their reason for becoming idols. + Gfriend has mentioned that their concept was inspired by SNSD's Into The New World. + SNSD's I Got a Boy, known as the Bohemian Rhapsody of Kpop, kickstarted the experimental cross-genre mixing trend in K-pop in 2013, that has directly influenced the creation of groups like NMIXX, Aespa, etc. They've had long career so there's alot to explore with them, but I'd recommend you watch their 2007 debut Into The New World + the extremely emotional live ballad version of it in 2014.

Girls Generation's "Gee" all the way back in 2009 was one of my first Kpop songs and got me into Kpop in general. These girls are indeed, iconic! "Gee" is a much more cutesy song of theirs but my favorite is probably "Catch Me If You Can" 2015.

Hello our lovely Coachs, thank you again for reacting to one of my ULTs. I will let some info here. Girls generation is also known as SNSD, being one of the best and most iconic girl groups from their generation until now. - I saw that Miss. and Mr. Coach pointed that the girls are beautiful and they indeed are. - Yoona, the lead vocalist, was actually the frist Visual of kpop. KBS (Korean Beauty Standards) making up their standards base on her visual, her being the most beautiful Visual in Kpop and Korea. She fits 100% KBS, logically her being the standard, they judging every kpop idol base on her beauty. - Girls generation was one of the first bands to have Albums and photocards. - When they first heard their band name they all cried because no one had the courage to call themselves 'girls generation', their original name being ' Super Girls' They have some SUB-UNITS, but one of my favorites is TTS formed by Taeyeon, Tiffany and Sooyoung. I sincerely hope you will react to their songs. 'Holler' 'Twinkle' these are personal favs. For the whole group i recommend: - Run Devil Run - I got a boy - Genie - Gee - Mr Mr They have an incredible discography and i'm so happy and Miss and Mr Coach liked them🤍 Hope for more reactions in the future 🤍

Ah... "Girl's Generation" (or SNSD), also known as the "Nation's Girl Group", leaders of 2nd Gen K-Pop, indeed likely the most influential girl group in K-Pop history. They more or less defined how the K-Pop system (especially girl groups) works and invented or perfected many of the concepts in K-Pop that we see till today. They're (with one exception) formally still a group (and close friends) even though many of them have also followed their own solo career paths outside their original label SM Entertainment. Their last comeback as whole group was "Forever 1" (a full studio album for their 15th anniversary in 2022). As far as recommendations, my favorite MVs from them in release order would be: "Into The New World" (2007, debut), "Gee" (2009, the big breakthrough hit), "Run Devil Run" (2010), "The Boys" (2011), "I Got A Boy" (2013), "Catch Me If You Can" (2015), "Party" (2015), "Lion Heart" (2015), "You Think" (2015) and of course "Forever 1" (2022). I also recommend, that you look into their solo activities starting with Taeyeon (one of the members) who became one of the most successful solo artists in K-Pop. You can start for Taeyeon with "INVU" (2022), one of her most successful releases. Solo Artists in general in K-Pop might be a good addition to your reaction list. If you want to look into THE most influential solo artist in K-Pop history (similar to Girl's Generation just for solo artists) also known as "Nation's Little Sister", I would also add IU (not a member of Girl's Generation) to the list and start here with her "Eight" (Live, 2022, Golden Hour Concert) and "Blueming" (Live, 2019, Love Poem Concert) performances. Other solo artists, I would add are BiBi (Start with ""Animal Farm") or Chung Ha (start with "Bicycle")

@@CoachCastTV fun side note: Girls' Generation started their career when KZbin wasn't a thing yet. They made it a thing during their career thx to the first international viral hits like "Gee" together with Psy's Gangnam Style a few years later. So they indeed played a big part in making K-Pop (and K-Pop in social media) internationally known and popular. But thats the reason their MVs don't yet have the views like todays big groups get.

ahh !!! Yes, you’re totally right, SNSD definitely do bring the girls out too! I absolutely loved these girls and still do today! My personal bias was Taeyeon and Yoona. Taeyeon actually has an incredible solo career and her music is some of my all time favourites. Her vocals and talent just cannot be compared, she’s incredible! So happy to see a SNSD reaction on your channel!! I never really request anything because I like to just watch and go on your kpop journey with you, and for some reason I didn’t think you’d get around to ‘older kpop’ groups, but like you said, there’s something just so special about these girls so I’m glad you checked them out! They definitely had the more mature vibe, something I really miss with kpop nowadays where companies keep debuting groups with members who are so young. I really loved 2nd/3rd gen kpop 🤍 love the reaction as always!!

6:50 "for 9 of them to be on that stage, they're all shining" soooo true! snsd really has such a variety of sounds and concepts but if you want to see more like this, i'd suggest "run devil run", "catch me if you can", "you think", "bad girl". but definitely must check out their debut song in 2007 called "into the new world" which is an incredibly impactful, legendary song and it being their debut song is so impressive! also, "gee" (one of the biggest kpop songs to ever exist), "i got a boy", "genie" "lion heart", and "forever 1" (their latest comeback in 2022 to celebrate their 15 year anniversary).

One of my favourite GG songs. I think you will be impressed by I Got A Boy, which always feels like concentrated essence of K-pop to me (as well as the Bohemian Rhapsody thing). If you're ever in an elevator with a rich heir* and he says 'I have just found out that the woman I love, who I am meeting in 5 minutes, is a K-pop fan. If you can show me one song so that I can understand her, I will be in your debt forever', show him I Got A Boy. *The Korean for rich heir is chaebol. According to K-dramas, stuff like this happens all the time.

Girls Generation are truly a legend, just recently they had their reunion after 5yrs hiatus and put out their 7 album. Starting so young 16,17&18 yr of age are now in their 30's and look gorgeous. Koreans fans for some reason usually do not follow idols when they reach 30yrs of age, but again, GG broke that record as well with their comeback hit "Forever 1", absolutely another record breaker. I applauded you both for speaking so highly of GG they deserve it. Thank you, again.

fun fact: blackpink was originally planned to have 9 members as well, because yg's goal was to make another girls generation. Also all the blackpink girls were inspired/motivated to join kpop partially or was fully inspired because of girls generation (forgot which members said it specifically). So really, just like blackpink having the biggest influence on the 4th generation, GG shaped the 3rd gen.

So happy with how many people are reacting to and getting into Girls’ Generation even in their 17th year in the industry, legends only, Nation’s Girl Group, Textbook of Girl Groups, Idols of Idol, there is a reason why the Kpop industry treats them like royalties and South Korea ( worldwide too ) loves them to this day and are all individually relevant among new idols and artists, and i’m glad more people are recognizing that💖💝💘

They are legendary kpop and started the trend for future girl group. Similar to 2ne1 is the legendary girl group of yg entertainment. While girls generation is the legendary girl group of sm entertainment where aespa, red velvet is their junior.

Into the New World covers were somewhat of a rite-of-passage for late 2nd / early 3rd gen groups. Some have posted videos, other just fancams from fan meetings or on variety shows. Some of the more unique: Devil's Cry - Run Devil Run that, as far as I can tell, was only performed with this particular arrangement during the 2011 -Phantasia- Girl's Generation tour and a couple of SM Town events in 2012. Think you'd appreciate the Devil's Cry intro. I've Got a Boy, now an iconic song, was polarizing at the time. Another "unique" arrangement. edit: dang, Phantasia had a different arrangement.

when i first discovered Kpop, SNSD went straight to the 'never going to watch' pile because of a whole lot of prejudices i had coming from music of the west. groups like 2NE1 and 4minute took the lead in my discovery of 'girl group' music because of the tough-girl/hip-hop vibes and SNSD just came across as too girly and bubble-gum to me. it took me a couple of years and meeting a fan online (an early KZbin reactor) to even give them a listen. in fact it was only because i fell in love with Soo Young (the girl in orange who caught Coach's eye for a moment) and Yoona from watching dramas, that i even decided to give them a shot and now i have nothing but love for this group. i think the members who seemed to catch Coach's attention the most were Taeyeon (6:24) and Yuri (8:05) which is understandable. (and Jessica's vocal at 8:23) Taeyeon became my SNSD bias once her solo career started and is now my Ultimate Bias Wrecker (alongside IU) - her solo discography is unreal and i can't wait for her debut on your channel .(...pssst killing voice....) going back to your introduction for a moment, SNSD/Girls Generation are everything you said in regards to their significance and impact on Kpop, and for forging inroads to the west, and for that very reason i hope 2NE1 are on your short list - for the era in which i came into this world the big 4 were 2NE1 (YG), SNSD (SM), Wonder Girls (JYP) and 4minute (Cube) and the biggest battle for the top was 2NE1 vs SNSD (oh the fan wars lol) wonderful reaction. so glad you liked them and i think this was a good choice for your introduction. look forward to the next one.

Don't forget T-ara, Sistar, and KARA (who took the spot off Girls' Generation's Gee and it's 9 weeks record with their song 'Honey'). Kinda disagree with 4minute as part of the big 4, it's gotta be KARA as they're the ones who made it big in Japan at that time. 4minute is really great don't get me wrong, but only one member (Hyuna) really stands out. T-ara had more recognizable members that time and had more relevance.

@@CoachCastTV Yuri was touted as "The nation's daughter in law" during that era. No surprise there lol. She was the energetic one with the brightest smile. Everyone loves her that time as she also did lots of variety shows and the most athletic one in the group. On the other hand, I know you know Irene from Red Velvet as the original visual, but the girl at 1:58 and 3:36 Yoona was known as "the queen of all visual". It was consensus during this era as she's the one who became known for being in the center position, hence also led her to be the most popular member. Irene was only coined the original visual coz the term "visual" (center position) only existed and was mainly popularized around 2015 when Girl's Generation were slowly declining. Since then, all kpop groups that followed required a standout gorgeous visual (aesthetically pleasing) member, may it be just a back up dancer or a rapper. It was all because of Yoona :) Girls' Generation indeed made the blueprint for all kpop girl groups after them.
